The result was delete. Normally, I would go along with pretty much any idea for a redirect, but there are some strong arguments put forth why a redirect would be wrong, so just plain delete. -- RoySmith (talk) 01:05, 30 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Redirection intimates that this is a phrase that may be commonly searched. It gives weight to the assumption that this phrase is moderately common in usage. If that is not the case we need to acknowledge that and delete the article. Padillah (talk) 20:10, 20 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: Although WP:REDIRECTSARECHEAP, we need to see that the word Swetang and its spelling variations are somewhere covered in the target article. Now Ganesha has tons of different names and redirecting them all and mentioning them all there would only create mess. @Redtigerxyz:, does the name come in Ganesha Sahasranama or Ganesha Purana. Although currently the Sahasranama article doesnt show all names, someday those 1000 names will have to be included in it like the Vishnu sahasranama has. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 05:11, 21 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Delete This doesn't feature in either the Ganesh Ashtotra (108 names) or in the Sahasarnama (1008 names), so it's not even 1007th on the priority list for redirects. Besides, it is used to refer to Ganesha only in the adjectival form and not as a noun, and even that isn't common within major literature and this usage is also quite varied in references. A redirect does far more disservice to readers here by implying something that isn't the case. —SpacemanSpiff 04:27, 22 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dharmadhyaksha, Swetang (श्वेतांग; literally "white-bodied") does not figure in the names of Ganesha. [1] says it is an epithet of Balarama. [2] In feminine form, it applies to Devi. Redtigerxyz ^Talk 12:25, 22 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
