She's done absolutely nothing after placing #11 on American Idol. Nothing at all. Utterly fails WP:MUSIC, textbook WP:BLP1E — no sources found that weren't related to Idol. First AFD was while she was still on Idol; second was speedy closed because it was a disruptive nomination made by a user who AFDed a bunch of Idol contestants willy nilly. - Keep Ultimately the rationale for keeping on the second AFD was correct. WP:MUSICBIO criteria number 9. Although 11th place is a low place, it is ultimately a place in the competition. If anything, it should be merged into the American Idol (season 6) article. --Fbifriday (talk) 06:43, 7 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge into American Idol season 6, being sure to add a bit of the content of this article.KeptSouth (talk) 09:48, 7 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- The nominator cites WP:BLP1E as reason for deletion, but that policy is explicitly meant to protect low-profile individuals. I don't see how "low-profile" could apply to someone who has gone on American Idol. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 12:03, 7 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- I agree; regardless of whether Edwards merits notability for what she's done, that's an extremely egregious misinterpretation of BLP1E. A "textbook case" might instead be a hapless victim caught up in a natural disaster, who gets reported in the news for human interest purposes because they lost their house, family, whatever. It is completely unreasonable to try and cram "trying out for a nationally broadcast television contest and appearing thereon in multiple episodes" into "one event." And under no circumstances should it apply to one's own actions intentionally undertaken to gain notability. postdlf (talk) 03:36, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Redirect to the season article. She had her brief moment in the spotlight and done nothing since. She had her 15 minutes of fame, which has not translated into notability. -- Whpq (talk) 15:27, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion so a clearer consensus may be reached.

- Keep - a semi-finalist on American Idol is in many minds per se notable. To get there, the contestants had to go through a brutal audition process of many phases, and performed several times on TV and in different cities. These semi-finalists, Edwards included, almost invariably pass WP:MUSICBIO just because of the process. In particular, she performed in public in Memphis, Hollywood, and Pasadena; performed five songs; and appeared on at least four episodes of the show. I would assert that appearing in the later phases of American Idol creates a rebuttable presumption that a singer is notable. Bearian (talk) 01:50, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep – Coverage of Edwards such as this in USA Today is an example of coverage that AI finalists often get. It's not an article about Idol, but an article about her, even if it springs from her Idol fame. Redirecting to the season article would be completely appropriate if all the coverage of Edwards occurred only as brief mentions in articles primarily about the TV show. - Keep - Passes #1 and #9 of WP:MUSICBIO. Aspects (talk) 14:32, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
