Lack of context and notability. JustBerry (talk) 02:50, 30 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. Notable lead actor and director, attendance exceeding 2 million - this alone should pass the notability threshold. Materialscientist (talk) 03:46, 30 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, Fernandel is probably subject to enough coverage that every film of his should have enough coverage of its own to be independently notable. I would suggest looking either for Fernandel biographies or books on post-WWII French cinema. A Google Books search gave the original French title of Le Mystère de Saint-Val, which in turn gave lots of hits, including a Variety review. I can't see why a lack of context would be an issue if the article says it's about a 1945 French film with lead actor X and director Y. Huon (talk) 07:44, 30 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep Meets WP:NF. Context, or lack therof, is not a reason for deletion. First Huon's reasoning is sound and, next, most stub articles lack it. JB while there is nothing wrong with your nomination of this article for AFD I would suggest that, if you haven't read it before, you will want to take a look at WP:BEFORE. • Strong keep of this as being the first film of Fernandel to be shot after the liberation of Paris. Topic meets WP:NF. Certainly we do not have lots of modern press coverage for this film 70 years afer it was first released, but it is hard to believe that a film by one of France's film idols of the time did not get coverage back then, and it is covered in multiple books. I call WP:NTEMP. The 132 character stub brought to AFD apparently without due research was easy to expand to a 1620 character Start or C-class. Time for a DYK. • Keep per WP:IAR. Even if there is little sourcing (which is unlikely for a movie with over two million admissions), the movie has historical significance, attracting significant attention back then. Esquivalience t 01:17, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
