I do not believe this person passes either the author notability test for writing a book or professor notability test for academic pursuits. Miami33139 (talk) 22:40, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep Gscholar shows papers with citation counts of 2759, 858, 780, 398, 376, 350, 341, 249. h-index is 28. Easily meets #1 of WP:PROF.--Sodabottle (talk) 17:40, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep meets WP:PROF. Hobit (talk) 18:58, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep Quite misguided nomination. Xxanthippe (talk) 05:25, 20 August 2010 (UTC).[reply]
- Keep. Not that we need more reasons, but the Canada Research Chair is a pass of WP:PROF#C5. And testifying to the U.S. Senate about the cost of wireless messaging services and then being quoted extensively in the NY Times and the Hindu about it also indicates a certain level of notability. —David Eppstein (talk) 05:40, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep. Citability alone is already sufficient for passing WP:PROF#C1. Also, as D.E. notes, holding a Canada Research Chair is enough to pass of WP:PROF#C5. Nsk92 (talk) 11:42, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
