Does not meet WP:SPORTSPERSON (A sportsperson is presumed to be notable if the person has actively participated in a major amateur or professional competition or won a significant honor and so is likely to have received significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject.) - Keep - nomination is incorrect, as subject does meet the relevant sports-specific notability guideline (WP:NFOOTBALL). I reckon @Mattythewhite: can expand given this player is notable for playing for the team they support. GiantSnowman 23:10, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
- Keep. Subject played in a fully professional league (eight appearances in the Football League) and therefore meets WP:NFOOTBALL. Mattythewhite (talk) 23:47, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
- Keep - played in the English Football League, which is indisputably a major professional competition. Nomination is therefore simply wrong. -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 08:38, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
- Keep passes WP:NFOOTY.Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 11:55, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
- Keep - does pass the SNG (WP:NFOOTBALL) as York was a Football League club at that time. It would have been more appropriate to nominate on the grounds of failing WP:GNG although he may well pass that too. Spiderone 13:02, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
- Keep As subject does appear notable per WP:NFOOTBALL. Garnarblarnar (talk) 22:22, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
- Will withdraw per above arguments. Kolma8 (talk) 17:49, 7 December 2020 (UTC)
