Security Tool[edit]

A poorly written article about a non-notable rogue spyware program consisting of entirely original research. It seems like nothing more than a tutorial about what this program is an how to get rid of this program. Heavydata (talk) 23:56, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep - Actually a decent article, just needs sources and improvement. Dondegroovily (talk) 02:44, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Delete- Not an article but a how-to, which is something wikipedia is not. No sources with significant coverage to show notability, I would ask Dondegroovily to point out where the sources he says it needs actually are. Bigger digger (talk) 19:58, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- move to Merge to Rogue security software per HamburgerRadio. The sources that Dondegroovily provides below don't strike me as sufficiently noteworthy, I can't suggest a proper reason why, sorry... Bigger digger (talk) 22:08, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment - some of many sources I've found are [1][2][3]. As far as the how-to nature of this article, that is also true of the sources - most articles about it are about how to remove it. However, all of the sources provide background beyond removing the program. I also disagree about it being like a how-to. It's not - only a small section at the end covers how to remove. It describes how the software infects the system and what the symptoms and behavior of it are, same as any article on viruses/malware. Dondegroovily (talk) 04:01, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge/Redirect to Rogue security software or to one of the Rogues it's related to. I believe this is the latest iteration of some of the oldest Rogue families. --HamburgerRadio (talk) 15:31, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Personally, I've just found it useful, so keep at least the redirect and the info William M. Connolley (talk) 18:45, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge specifically including content to any of the suggested articles (no one mentioned Malware yet, but I suppose that would be a good fit). Collect (talk) 20:07, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion so consensus may be reached.
