The result was delete. Current consensus is to delete. If that changes in the future, this can be revisited. As I'm nearly positive that someone will ask me to restore the article at some point, I'm going to preemptively restore it to Draft:Sanjay Awasthy. —ScottyWong— 05:50, 2 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment - I'd completely missed this. Originally referenced an Indian cricketer with only a single first-class appearance - whose article would probably have been deleted anyway in current circumstances - then was changed to refer to a politician who none of us will have heard of. I still don't know how the notability criteria has changed. Bobo. 08:36, 29 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This should explain the switch. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 08:55, 29 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment From a cricketing point of view I'd normally say redirect to List of Himachal Pradesh cricketers as he played a single game for a single FC team and there's not enough fo a GNG pass but a WP:ATD, however I'm not particularly knowledgable on politics guidelines and Indian politics. If his political career is in no way notable then I'd say redirect to the cricket list, but if he has some notability in politics then perhaps a politics redirect would be better. • Keep. Convenient ignoring of him being a first-class cricketer, so passes the cricket inclusion guideline. StickyWicket (talk) 10:47, 1 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about that, I wasn't trying to slip something under the radar. But now that i check WP:CRIN, and Wikipedia:WikiProject Cricket/Official cricket#Men's Competitions with First-class/List A/T20 status that we don't deem notable, his cricket career is not automatically notable. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 05:03, 2 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No worries MPGuy2824, I must apologise, I mistook your username for another user from earlier in the year who nominated quite a few cricket articles without checking the cricket notability guidelines. StickyWicket (talk) 16:15, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • DELETE: Doesn't meet WP:GNG. Also fails to meet WP:POLITICIAN.Advait (talk) 08:14, 20 October 2021 (UTC) Blocked sock. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 05:09, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Relist As Nwhyte explained. If he wins the election this week then this would need to be recreated. No harm in holding the decision for a week until results.Venkat TL (talk) 11:53, 28 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete or Draftify if kept. There's no need to wait for election, or this will be the case of WP:TOOSOON, it also Fails WP:NPOLITICIAN. 119.200.19.89 (talk) 06:16, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Fails the politician criteria. He was a defeated candidate for Assembly in 2012; he held a party position in 2009; that appears to be it. Some of you imply that he is a candidate in a current election, but the article says nothing about that. The article's references mostly go nowhere. I can't evaluate his cricket experience, but unless he gets elected to significant office (and I assume the election is going on as we speak), this is a delete of a non-notable politician. -- MelanieN (talk) 01:58, 31 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: It's now November 1, in India. Is there any news from the polls? BD2412 T 03:06, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
According to this ECI notice, counting will be on 2nd November. So, we should have the results, by evening tomorrow (IST). -MPGuy2824 (talk) 04:24, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
