The result was speedy delete‎. The claim of significance in the article is based purely on an Instagram post by the subject of the article. Even in the case of an apparently reliable source such as the Independent, reading the article makes it clear that they are basing their reporting purely on her own claim. Meanwhile, the organisation responsible for the competition denies the claim she posted to Instagram. Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#A7 says "The criterion does apply if the claim of significance or importance given is not credible". (Original emphasis.) That clearly applies here.
