The result was redirect to South Carolina in the American Civil War. Consensus is that this shouldn't be a separate article. The redirection allows editors to merge content from the history to whichever articles may be appropriate. Sandstein 09:28, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Merge what's sourceable to Declaration of the Immediate Causes Which Induce and Justify the Secession of South Carolina from the Federal Union, then delete; seems relevant to the secession of SC, less to what happened on the territory of SC during the war. Merge and delete The page name itself is speculative and should be removed. The page itself does contain some sourced material that can better be merged into South Carolina in the American Civil War and/or into Declaration of the Immediate Causes mentioned above. merge into South Carolina in the American Civil War: Comments: Not notable, not relevant to the sources, and information can be used elsewhere. I am thinking this would result in a deletion or redirect anyway right? It is sort of perplexing that we have a "merge request" and an AFD ongoing for the same article. I would think one or the other would have been "merged" for less confusion. I have not looked at Declaration of the Immediate Causes Which Induce and Justify the Secession of South Carolina from the Federal Union but wonder why the title needed to be so long? Comment: The South Carolina in the American Civil War article is in need of secession specific information found in this article regardless of the end result of proposed deletion or merger. I have created a section in that (SC in ACW) article using the most relevant information and sources from this one and augmenting with other parts of the timeline and additional cites.
