Comment, having one or more books that are bestsellers may show that the author's work/works are "well known" ie. point 3. of WP:NAUTHOR, of course the books also need to be the subject "of multiple independent periodical articles or reviews", so being notable in their own right - meeting WP:NBOOK(?).
