The result was Keep. Nomination withdrawn by nominator. As an aside, "merge" result can naturally arise after deletion discussion, but to solely discuss "merger", talkpage is the right venue. (non-admin closure)Ammarpad (talk) 14:58, 5 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

From my knowledge and from what I can get from the article, it looks like Edinburgh doesn't have nicknames that would be independently notable. Therefore, I propose merging this into Edinburgh. wikitigresito (talk) 16:51, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Close AFD is not an appropriate way to propose Wikipedia:Merging. Just go ahead and see how things turn out. Thincat (talk) 20:12, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Auld Reekie is certainly independently notable, however, this should be merged into a section in the main article Edinburgh. But as Thincat points out, AfD is not the place to discuss mergers and this discussion should be closed. Polyamorph (talk) 21:27, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hey, I‘m sorry I didn‘t figure out the proper process. Please close this. wikitigresito (talk) 06:47, 28 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • Yes. Because in AFD discussions people can quite properly !vote "merge" and the close can also be to merge, it is rather counter-intuitive that merges are not supposed to be proposed at AFD. Thincat (talk) 08:57, 28 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
