The result was no consensus. Not outright keep because "is interesting" is a weak argument. Sandstein 07:20, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Non-notable listing of works, which has no outside third party reliable sources to assert the notability and importance of the list. ΔT The only constant 22:15, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep.
- A major newspaper in Holland asks readers to make a determination on important novels in their culture. I accept that they know their culture better than I do. That's why I am interested in their opinion.
- I have owned a copy of Max Havelaar for a decade. It's a Penguin in English.
- Mulisch's book The Assault in its film version won the Oscar for Best Foreign Film.
- Reve wrote The Fourth Man. The novel became a famous Dutch film starring Jeroen Krabbe and sexpot Renee Soutendijk which everyone in Canada loves; I don't know about the opinions of other anglophone countries on that.

- According to English WP, Hermans, Mulisch and Reve are the Holy Trinity of postwar Dutch lit.
- I personally cannot vouch for the importance of Hermans, who is new to me and one of my reasons for translating this list, but I have been hearing this sort of approbation for Mulisch and Reve for years. I believe all of Mulisch's work is in print in English. It's the other authors that people who are curious about Dutch culture would like to know more about, since translation from Dutch to English is rather sporadic. - Ik wrote the Dutch version of this lemma. It's a most notable list in Holland as wel as in Belgium, like the Big Read is in England. There was a lot af media attention in 2007. And NRC Handelsblad is the most prestigious newspaper in the Netherlands. I'm pleased with an English version. The list can be checked in the link to the NRC-website. SPEEDY DELETE -- non-notable and arbitrary list, certainly non-encyclopedic, and a clear violation of WP:NOT --mhking (talk) 23:35, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge into Dutch literature which needs more sources such as this. Colonel Warden (talk) 07:25, 22 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep- A "best Dutch novels" list published in an important Dutch paper is interesting to me, and probably to other readers as well.-- I NEVER CRY 00:46, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep - lists like these occur for english language books or films, but wikipedia lacks a decent list for dutch literature and film. It's a major, quality newspaper that regularly reviews novels as well. Notable. Cayafas (talk) 23:14, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
