WP:NOTNEWS. Unremarkable crime, and I don't think that being reviewed by the cold case unit & attraticng press attention on the back of that makes it in any way notable. TheLongTone (talk) 14:05, 29 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree. The crime itself is unremarkable, but the outcome prompted a national discussion about the continued use of the "not proven" verdict in Scotland. It was because of this case that George Robertson introduced a private members' bill to scrap the "not proven" verdict in 1993, and the Scottish Office consulted on its retention in 1994.
