Article about a footballer who fails WP:GNG and who has not played in a fully pro league. PROD was contested on the grounds that the W-league is a fully professional league, but this assertion is not backed up by any evidence. C679 15:50, 28 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I created this article and many others based on the assumption that the W-League is professional. What is the saying on this? --SuperJew (talk) 17:10, 29 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - Player has not played in fully professional league, nor played senior international football, so fails NFOOTY. No indication of any other achievements garnering significant reliable coverage to achieve GNG. @SuperJew: the W-League may contain professional teams / players, but it is not currently considered FULLY professional as per the WP:FOOTY list. This list is not concrete however and if you believe that you have significant, reliable sources indicating that it is fully pro, please raise this at WT:FOOTY, where consensus can be debated. • Delete. W-League is not a fully professional league. The subject of the article fails WP:GNG and WP:NSPORTS. Hack (talk) 09:03, 3 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - W-League is a league which many high ranking and notable women's football players have played in and play in currently. By the standard of 'fully professional' in women's soccer, any player from the FA WSL who's only record of notability would also be subject for deletion. • Comment - the aim of WP:NSPORTS is identify sportspeople who are likely to meet WP:GNG. If a sportsperson fails WP:NSPORTS but meets WP:GNG, they are notable for the purposes of Wikipedia. There is little to suggest that this particular sportsperson meet WP:GNG. Hack (talk) 00:51, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - Based on the fact that she is in her third club of her senior career and in her previous club she made 29 appearances and scored 24 goals, I would argue that there is some form of notability there. I am new to all of this, but if the issue in question is her notability, I would argue that this meets that criterion. Again, I am new at this, so guidance and assistance in these matters is appreciated. Weelilbit (talk) 01:43, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
