SPA writing under the name of the subject in the biography. Promotional and poor quality article. Molochmeditates (talk) 04:04, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

    Dear Sirs,
    Good morning, everybody.
I say good morning because, in Italy, it is 04:47 a.m.
I consider myself a serious person and professional.
For me, having a page on Wikipedia is an honor and a joy.
Recently, on my page, I posted some official links.
These links have all been deleted, and I even read that you want to delete my page.
    Why this prejudice against me?
Before deleting the links I place, and closing my page, I ask that my links be analyzed and verified for their source and content.
I understand that they are in Italian and, therefore, can hardly be understood, but there are translators for people of good will.
I give some paradoxical examples: In the “Biography” section, I had entered:
    https://accademiatiberina.it/cerimonie/198-anno-cerimonia-di-inaugurazione/
    https://accademiatiberina.it/cerimonie/198-anno-rassegna-fotografica/#iLightbox%5Bgallery_image_1%5D/55
These are the links to the inauguration of the 198th academic year (2010), during which I was awarded the prestigious title of academician. You have deleted everything. Do you want to question the prestigious Tiber Academy?
In this regard, I also included a Wikipedia link:
    https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accademia_tiberina
    You have also deleted yours.
Immediately after, you find Giuseppe Gioachino Belli written in blue.
This link is old; I still need to put it in.
    This is a Wikipedia link:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giuseppe_Gioachino_Belli
Doesn't this seem like a paradox?
This is fine; the one I inserted is not by Wikipedia policy?
And again, in order not to go on too long, I will mention only three examples of links that you have unilaterally removed:
    https://www.concorsiletterari.net/rassegna-stampa/verbale-ufficiale-di-giuria-le-nove-muse-2023/
This is a public record officiating the awarding, to me, of a prestigious Critics' Award for the Mauro Montacchiesi book, "The Star on this July Night" (Amazon Publishing).
    https://www.lagazzettadimassaecarrara.it/brevi/dedicato-un-libro-in-lingua-inglese-a-marina-pratici
This is a newspaper. The Gazzetta of Massa and Carrara
The article is in Italian, and I cannot translate it because it is printed.
    However, if you read well:
The volume is entitled "Tribute to the Artist Marina Pratici" and is the work of Mauro Montacchiesi, an Italian poet who lives and works in Rome.
    -
    https://www.accademiapoesiarte.it/2020/10/02/poesia-2020-mauro-montacchiesi/
    https://www.accademiapoesiarte.it/
This is the International Academy of Signification Poetry and Contemporary Art.
Look and check well the logos of the sponsorships: Public University Roma Tre, Regione lazio, Roma Capitale, Italian Cultural Institute New York, Municipality of Canale Monterano.
You have deleted these as well. Why?
I could give so many more examples, all well-founded and substantiated, of official links that you have deleted.
Again, I have included details of some books that I published in 2022.
They are all books with regular ISBNs and deposited at the National Library in Florence.
The ones that I entered are not good; the earlier ones, which I did not enter, are fine.
At the top of my page, I read:
This article has multiple issues. Please help improve it or discuss these issues on the talk page.
Since no one is doing this, I try to do it, but I am regularly boycotted.
I leave it up to you to examine and decide on the case.
    Best regards.

Hello!
I have included links from journal articles that concern me, and there are already others that I have not included, but others have.
I have entered several books I published with related ISBNs, and others have not, but other people have.
These are official items found online.
Why do you want to close my page?
Sincerely. MAURO PAOLO PIETRO (talk) 16:03, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • @MAURO PAOLO PIETRO, to answer your questions, we have rules that govern article retention. In particular, refer to the detailed information in these guidelines: WP:BIO, WP:RS, and WP:COI.
WP:COI: You are not allowed to edit your own biography. This is to protect Wikipedia's integrity against self-interested editing.
WP:BIO: The article has to demonstrate that you are notable as defined by WP:BIO above; you may disagree with those notability criteria but they're the rules of this website.
WP:RS: Any claims this article makes about you have to be backed up with citations to references that meet the WP:RS guideline.
Presently, this article does not meet our notability requirements based on the references in the article.
I'm sure you're a very good poet. If it's any consolation, most of the world's very good poets aren't notable by our rules. They have not gotten the substantial, in-depth coverage required.
Ultimately, notability on Wikipedia is more about vagaries of media coverage by reliable sources than merit. We're an encyclopaedia diligently compiled by a group of amateur volunteers. We're compiling information from around the world for our articles; we're not forming or imposing our own opinions.
I'm sorry I have to tell you this; I know it's a disappointment. Please don't take it personally - this is just a really big website, and we're not poetry experts.

  • Delete per my response to Mr. Montacchiesi above. I'll also note that he does not have an article on the Italian Wikipedia that I could find; there is no it:Mauro Montacchiesi.
