trivial awards of no general significance. DGG ( talk ) 23:49, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Delete almost on par with chamber of commerce awards in a large city. The country is so small I'm almost surprised they have not run out of people to give awards too already. Legacypac (talk) 00:27, 8 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment, Ouch! can someone point to the policy/guideline that precludes articles because they are to do with a small country like the Lux? oh well, there goes all the articles about 30 or so countries that are smaller, wonder what the big gal/guy upstairs is going to think when we expunge everything Vatican Coolabahapple (talk) 13:44, 9 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - small country, combined with the fact there are not many CIOs. Bearian (talk) 23:23, 13 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment, "delete - small country", if this is a valid deletion argument i look forward to numerous Wyoming article afds with the similar "delete - small state". Coolabahapple (talk) 08:01, 16 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. If this were some award that was conferred by the Luxembourg government, I'd have to think twice about recommending a 'delete'. But it isn't a government award -- it's an industry award that is conferred to people and companies who work in a specific industry in a small geographic area (and, for most of the awards, you can't win it unless you apply for it and pay an application fee). As for substantial coverage of the award, there isn't much. Some of the sources cited in the article are press-release types of newspaper articles announcing that somebody in particular won an award; other are websites in which the awardees (or their employers) say "Hey folks, we won an award!". Other references are to the website for IT One, the organization that sponsors the awards. The only source that comes close to being substantial is the one from corporatenews.lu. And that's just a brief report of one "gala" event on a web page that has the phrase "Chamber of Commerce" at the bottom. All of this strikes me as being coverage that doesn't go beyond "routine". On top of that, virtually all of the references are to sources devoted to the IT industry, thus raising concerns about an overly-limited audience per WP:AUD. As for recognition by the general media, I gave myself the challenge of finding out who was the Luxembourg CIO of the Year for 2008. I couldn't find out. Indeed, neither could the authors of the article who, in fact, can tell us nothing about any of the winners prior to 2010. Can you imagine leaving Wikipedia and not being able to find out who won a Nobel Prize in 1958, or the Best Film Oscar for 1958? And those are awards that were handed out fifty years earlier than 2008. I just don't see anything about these awards that merits an article. NewYorkActuary (talk) 21:02, 1 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - fails WP:ORG and WP:GNG, and it's promotional in that it's an a relatively unknown award that doesn't go beyond the small circle of local executives patting themselves on the back. Atsme📞📧 15:41, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
