Non-notable neologism for a video game "genre"; borderline speedy-able as no sources indicating notability are given. OhNoitsJamie Talk 15:27, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well im new here and I dont know how to began but i'll try, I create the article. A agree that the genre is not notable for many games but like its mentioned in the article it was coined by the Yu Suzuki for his game, Shenmue because the series is too hard to categorize. So its a special genre for this game only. There are some websites like giantbomb.com , videogamesdaily.com/ and gamergeorge.info mentioned it and recognized it. - Comment If it only applies to one game, it should be merged into the article about that game; I can't see any reason why it needs a stand-alone article. OhNoitsJamie Talk 17:54, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Well its applies to 2 games, Shenmue and its sequel. The only reason I create an article for it, because I thought it should have it own article just like other video-game genres. Like I said I'm new here and if you think its should be merged its fine by me. Faithtour (talk) 18:17, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Weak delete or userify/merge until more sources can be found. --rahaeli (talk) 22:12, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete just like a music genre used by only one artist would not be notable, neither is a game genre with only one game. Neither has the term gained any traction in the industry: the term I hear used for games that allow a lot of freedom from the player to decide what to do is "sandbox". - Delete - Genres are not decided by Wikipedians. They're decided on from established, published, reliable sources. --Teancum (talk) 01:10, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete A genre that applies to only one game (or a game and its sequel) is not a genre. Yes, some other sites acknowledge it, because it's a term Yu Suzuki has used. Okay, so Giant Bomb has a page for it and it even includes a third game. But Giant Bomb also has other pages that would not be appropriate for inclusion in Wikipedia like abilitease and game titles that have numbers in place of letters. It's a user-contributed wiki and unreliable. The other two sources are merely acknowledging that Yu Suzuki says it's a thing. It's not the significant coverage that we need on Wikipedia.
