This term was pulled out of obscurity by marginalized evolutionary psychologists and fringe academics as an apologia for racism. We don't need this kind of WP:POVFORK/WP:COATRACK. Ethnocentrism describes the mainstream explanation without resorting to this kind of pseudoscholarship which is itself discussed on Race and intelligence and related articles that can properly contextualize this sort of argumentation. jps (talk) 16:03, 15 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect. This appears to be a rather poor article but the term gets some hits in Google Scholar so it is a plausible search term. Redirect to Ethnocentrism The term is a search term that is used and the article traffic demonstrates that users will look for this. The actual content of the article is thin and demonstrates that the concept is already adequately covered in a better way by the redirect target. Comment The Google Books results indicate that the term was coined by Pierre van den Berghe in the Elsevier-published The Ethnic Phenomenon. (1981). Van den Berghe was a recipient of the American Sociological Association Spivak Award. I am unable to find any pointers that he was "FRINGE". JP Rushton and Tatu Vanhanen are fringe in race and intelligence, though Vanhanen wasn't fringe in political science (he started to write about R&I after he retired, otherwise his concepts such as "Index of Democratization" are well-recognized and published within the field). Vanhanen's 1991 and 1999 books about "ethnic nepotism" were published by Sterling and Emerald respectively. Google Scholar gets 1,130 hits. The top result, Vanhanen's Journal of Peace Research article, has 453 citations elsewhere. If this doesn't warrant an own article (I'm not sure), then the very least it should be a redirect and warrant a paragraph based on van den Berghe and possibly Vanhanen there. --Pudeo (talk) 22:13, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
