Candidate for public office; does not meet Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion per WP:POLITICIAN or WP:GNG. I am actually proposing that the article be redirected to United States House of Representatives elections in California, 2014#District 45 per our usual practice. I am bringing it to AfD to ensure a thorough public discussion. MelanieN (talk) 14:10, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Unelected candidates in Congressional elections do not pass WP:NPOL, and are not automatically entitled to articles on Wikipedia, just for being candidates — if you cannot properly demonstrate and source that he was already notable enough for inclusion under a different guideline before he became a candidate, then he does not become notable enough for inclusion until he wins the election. Either delete or redirect, without prejudice against recreation in November if (and only if) he wins the seat. Bearcat (talk) 21:58, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete campaign biography. DGG ( talk ) 23:47, 18 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete All sources relate to his campaign. If he's elected, he's automatically notable but right now is WP:TOOSOON for notability. 131.118.229.17 (talk) 20:55, 21 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, subject does not meet WP:POLITICIAN; while the subject has received coverage regarding their campaign, this falls under an event and thus the subject falls under WP:BIO1E, and the article should be made into a redirect to the article about the election. If the subject wins the election the article can always be recreated.--RightCowLeftCoast (talk) 05:52, 23 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
