Does not meet WP:GNG, all substantial coverage I was able to find was from non-independent sources, such as teams that the subject played for. Coverage in independent sources does not appear to rise above trivial. BeanieFan11 contested a PROD with the above rationale claiming they found coverage that might be significant, but did not provide links and I was unable to find such sources online. Note as well that the primary contributor for this article has been blocked for UPE. signed, Rosguill talk 17:29, 29 June 2022 (UTC)

- Here's what my search was able to bring up: Tech's Dontez Byrd taking advantage of opportunity from the Herald-Citizen (appears to be SIGCOV); Pirates Re-Sign WR Dontez Byrd from OurSportsCentral (probably SIGCOV, but I'm not sure whether or not it is reliable or independent); Undrafted Rookie Turns Childhood Letter Into NFL Dream Come True from FanBuzz (definitely in-depth, not sure on the reliability however); Former Walk-On Receiver Could Make Falcons Roster from Fansided (SIGCOV); Falcons WR Dontez Byrd might be surprise of training camp from SB Nation (SIGCOV); USFL Wideouts and Corners: Who will get picked up in the Draft? from American Football International (about a paragraph on Byrd, probably not significant enough); Dontez “Speedy” Byrd is flying high in Seattle from XFL Board (if reliable, would count as SIGCOV); and U of L walk-on Byrd earns scholarship from The Courier-Journal (probably SIGCOV). I'd say its enough for GNG. Keep. BeanieFan11 (talk) 17:41, 29 June 2022 (UTC)
