Non-notable band. References are not from reliable secondary sources and do not support WP:GNG. Nearlyevil665 (talk) 21:08, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Nearlyevil665 do you mean this call for deletion or you are just testing the deletion template?? Article passes both WP:GNG and WP: MUSICBIO. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 154.160.9.18 (talk) 5 April 2021 (UTC)
  • Comment: I am dead serious. And you might be editing logged out from your account by mistake. Otherwise not quite sure where the Wikipedia speak comes from. Nearlyevil665 (talk) 09:00, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per WP:TOOSOON. I have found only 2 more or less suitable sources which talk about the artists, all the others are just passing mentions. For now there's no significant coverage, it's a clear WP:GNG for me. Less Unless (talk) 11:17, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete WP:TOOSOON, no news coverage yet. DmitriRomanovJr (talk) 12:52, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - The entity Dead Peepol has their song Otan Hunnu topping major charts in Ghana for more than a year, they had four nominations at the just-ended 3Music Awards winning the Best Group. Three nominations at Ghana's biggest award ceremony Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. I do not know whta else we need to prove their notability. I do not agree with the WP:TOOSOON tag. Geezygee (talk) 15:03, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep passes WP:NMUSIC criteria 8 (only one criteria needed) with a win and multiple nominations at Ghana's main music awards which are nationally broadcast as confirmed in reliable sources. Therefore, deletion is unnecessary in my view, Atlantic306 (talk) 00:08, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: WP:NMUSIC reads: "Has won or been nominated for a major music award, such as a Grammy, Juno, Mercury, Choice or Grammis award." Every national music award isn't a pass. nearlyevil665 06:19, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
But the top level competition of a country is usually a pass, imv Atlantic306 (talk) 23:39, 14 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, per Geezygee. Topping any country's music chart meets criteria for notability. WP:BAND #2, "Has had a single or album on any country's national music chart." Ifnord (talk) 22:23, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: What is the reliable source it has topped the charts? nearlyevil665 05:56, 12 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Relisting comment: There is some disagreement over whether WP:BAND applies and whether there are reliable sources to support its application. Further discussion over this particular aspect may help generate consensus.

  • Keep as passes criteria 8 of WP:NMUSIC (only one criteria needed) as nominated for Ghana's top music awards as confirmed in reliable newspaper sources so deletion is unnecessary in my view. Geezygee (talk) 16:29, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - Unlike most of the stub-sized articles on African musicians that arrive in AfD land, this one appears to be legit, and it is not dependent on reprinted press releases or nominations for crooked award ceremonies. It appears that 3Music Awards is a respected ceremony in their country, so their victory there gets them past criterion #8 at WP:NBAND. However I am not sure if the charts where "Otan Hunu" apperaed are reliable and official per WP:CHARTS, if so that gets the group past #2 at WP:NBAND but I would like to see more confirmation on that one. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 01:21, 21 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
