I'm puzzled why a destroyer escort was named for him - he doesn't satisfy WP:SOLDIER - but a redirect to USS Weeden (DE-797) wouldn't be out of order. Clarityfiend (talk) 07:33, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment Seems notable enough to have an entire ship in the U.S. Navy named after him.--TMD Talk Page. 15:54, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Redirect to USS Weeden (DE-797). Not independently notable. Why was a ship named for him? People were emotional about the attack on Pearl Harbor and the sinking of the USS Arizona, besides, a relative of Weeden's sponsored the ship. --Bejnar (talk) 22:36, 23 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Redirect: G'day, I think a redirect to USS Weeden (DE-797) is probably the best course of action here as it doesn't seem like there is enough coverage to warrant a separate article. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 21:12, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
