Comment Her purported Air Force service is uncited and unremarkable in the extreme. The National Defense Service medal is a participation trophy and doesn't convey any sort of notability. Intothat darkness 16:24, 12 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Merge detail into Eric Roberts and Julia Roberts. This is an honorably discharged US Air Force veteran whose unremarkable and unheralded military service in the Special Services (entertainment) branch changed her life, and as it turns out, significantly influenced her children's lives as well. A different era indeed. One might source the page adequately from the childrens' ample bios. Newspapers.com reveals 13 matches for "Betty Bredemus" and 7 matches for "Betty Lou Bredemus", 14 of those are obituary stuff. Remarkably, however, one of the matches is for the couple's wedding announcement and four others discuss the touring play during which Betty and Walter first met, directed by Rance Howard. It is unusual for (even successful) theater actors to have articles about them, but this fine working actress might best get the coverage she deserves in her children's pages. I am a little concerned that the actual source the article cites doesn't mention her service at all (people.com). It's also worth noting that the Special Services branch went away at the end of World War II (per our own article on the Army Service Forces, the parent unit of Special Services).
