DeleteKeep - unremarkable school -Zeus-uc 18:43, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]- Keep - unbelievably this was Prodded 1 minute after creation whilst it was still being written. No way can the nominator have followed the WP:BEFORE procedures. The school contains a high school and sources are available to meet WP:ORG. This should be given a reasonable chance. - First line of WP:ORG:
- An organization is generally considered notable if it has been the subject of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources.
- Now, it may just be me, but I don't see any of that in the article. I did a google search, and didn't find much. As far as your WP:BEFORE argument, that can be addressed with the same. -Zeus-uc 19:20, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- This is the first article by a new editor and it was proposed for deletion whilst it was being written. What impression does that give of Wikipedia? No wonder new users often feel bitten. A more constructive approach would have been to tag the page for improvement and given the creator guidance; it could have been proposed for deletion if notability could not, after a reasonable time, been demonstrated. - Keep In practice, it has almost always been possible to find information showing the notability of all high schools. Hence our reasonable practice of not nominating them for deletion, because it isn't worth the fuss for the 10% or so that might not be. They are invariably major community institutions, and this would especially be the case for a specialised community like this. DGG (signed by -Zeus-)
- Keep Notability: the school is notable due to the controversy regarding higher education (higher than eighth grade!!) in the Amish Mennonite and plainer Mennonite church communities which it served at its founding. This historical theme, however, should be more clearly developed in the article, though it may take the student writers more time to do so. EdK (talk) 21:40, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
