B490 road[edit]

The short road in this article has no special claim to fame, and the article does not assert notability, or supply any citations to claim such. While places generally have a presumption of notability, this does not apply to every minor road. And even being in the fine district of Chiswick does not guarantee notability... Redirect to B roads in Zone 4 of the Great Britain numbering scheme#3 digits. I'm dissapointed that nobody above apparently even considered looking to see if there was an appropriate list to redirect to - because there is, and it took all of ten seconds to find. Redirects are cheap (and, while it isn't a concern, actually take less server space than deletion does), avoid tempting "oh, that doesn't exist!" for potential recreators, and provide an actual, useful service to the Wikipedia reader. No, but it is part of the Five Pillars that Wikipedia is a gazetteer, and lists of roads are appropriate content for such. Also, the list of roads is a sub-list of List of B roads in Great Britain, which is an appropriate and notable list for an encyclopedia; there is no requirement that the contents of a list be themselves notable (in fact it is explicitly said that none of them need be). - The Bushranger _{One ping only} 00:30, 8 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
