PROD contested by IP who stated "worth at least an AfD." Original PROD rationale was "What rivalry? Only one match played; no evidence of notability, not covered in significant detail by reliable, third-party sources. Fails WP:GNG" which remains valid. Comment - I disagree that it fails GNG, this is a topic that has been heavily discussed in reliable sources like this one (and even in Norwegian sources). So far it's only been one match, so it might be more concise to rename the article to reflect that. This topic is however already covered in another article, Relocation of Wimbledon F.C. to Milton Keynes, and I believe the whole section "Legacy" is about their rivalry. As this article is a stub with two-three sentances and it duplicates an existing topic and doesn't expand upon that existing article, it can in my opinion be speedy deleted per WP:CSD#A10, unless the title is a plausible redirect. This is a notable topic, but we don't need a WP:SPINOFF-article with two-three sentances, so if it isn't speedy deleted and we don't need the redirect, the article should be deleted until a decent spin-off article can be created. Redirect to Relocation of Wimbledon F.C. to Milton Keynes. I agree with the above comments that it doesn't need a separate article and is adequately covered in the other article. Redirection is a judgment call - it's not a very obvious search term, but equally the redirect target may not be very obvious if readers have to go looking for it. --Colapeninsula (talk) 10:35, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

First, thanks to Giant Snowman for leaving a notice on the talk page of the IP that contested it (me), very courteous. On the actual AfD, it's an interesting one -- technically it does meet GNG in my opinion, as it has received significant coverage in multiple independent sources (see "MK Dons v AFC Wimbledon: more than just a game", The Telegraph, "We are Wimbledon! Fans stake claim for 'real Dons' tag during FA Cup grudge match", Daily Mail, "AFC Wimbledon have no right to claim trophies, insists MK Dons chief", Daily Mail, "MK Dons v AFC Wimbledon: Clubs asked to show restraint by FA", BBC, "AFC Wimbledon fans find FA Cup tie at MK Dons too hard to stomach", The Guardian, "Don't kiss the badge! Cops crack down before Wimbledon vs MK Dons grudge match", Daily Mirror, etc.) But I can understand the point of some of the others above, it does feel a bit naff to have an article about a rivalry when only one game has been played and sometimes common sense should prevail over a literal reading of the guidelines, so I won't be voting keep myself. If the article is not kept, it should at the least be redirected to Relocation of Wimbledon F.C. to Milton Keynes. Sure, it's a cumbersome title, but redirects are cheap and it will still show as a drop down when people search "AFC Wimbledon...". 121.219.235.134 (talk) 13:11, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
