Notability and WP:NOTNEWS concerns. Similar to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2018 Vienna stabbing, but less notable. power~enwiki (π, ν) 17:26, 24 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Strong Keep Notability is the same as for the 2018 Vienna stabbing. The Austrian government changed its asylum policy because of both incidents, so why should it be less notable? I really don't understand this AfD nomination.--Greywin (talk) 20:24, 24 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Because the government opposed asylum before the stabbings, and merely found it a convenient pretext. How many causes can a (ultimately minor) policy change have before we agree that none of them are notable? power~enwiki (π, ν) 02:37, 25 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment/Suggest Merge I reckon merging the two articles could put the entire situation in the context of changes to immigration policies. Something like 2018 Vienna stabbings would work. Acebulf (talk) 04:37, 25 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge to 2018 Vienna stabbing, and rename to 2018 Vienna stabbing attacks or similar. Coverage seems to be joint, particularly the political side.Icewhiz (talk) 07:40, 25 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge as per WP:RAPID - investigation is just getting underway, WP:NCRIME and WP:PRESERVE. As Users:Acebulf &Icewhiz suggest, merging to something like 2018 Vienna stabbing attacks makes sense, not least because the two are paired as part of the move by the present government of Austria to change its immigration/asylum laws in response to these two headline crimes. • Merge - The stabbings go hand-in-hand for what makes them notable. I think a hasty copy-and-paste would be a net-negative, but a planned selective merge with context could create a respectable article, particularly on Austria's moves to change their immigration policy.TheGracefulSlick (talk) 16:22, 25 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
