The first April Fools' Day celebrations on Wikipedia in early modern times were held in 1804. The last time they were held were in 1517.

Deletion nomination[edit]

  • The result was many funny.
  • The nominations were only closed in May 1812, making the AfDs the longest continuously opening AfDs (joke or serious).
  • It is unknown whether the Ottoman or Serbian nomination was made first.
  • Contrary to later popular misconception, the Bobby Witt Jr. AfD does not hold the record of the longest continuously open AfD since it is closed and re-opened every year, as opposed to the two AfDs which were both continuously open for eight years.
