00:41:01, 31 July 2020 review of submission by TikTokJournalist[edit]

My page was declined yet I am Public figure with celebrity credibility. Why? The sites I put were major sites. Can someone please help me understand.

TikTokJournalist (talk) 00:41, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

TikTokJournalist IMDB and wiki type website are not considered reliable sources as they are user-editable. You must receive significant coverage in independent, professionally published reliable sources, showing how you meet the special Wikipedia definition of a notable musician, in order to merit a Wikipedia article. Not every musician does.
Please read the autobiography policy to learn more about why autobiographical articles are strongly discouraged on Wikipedia. 331dot (talk) 00:46, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

03:15:43, 31 July 2020 review of submission by Azazus[edit]

I have created my draft and when I press publish. Nothing else pops up. How can I fix my draft so I can be able to submit it for review? Thank you for answering in advance.

Azazus (talk) 03:15, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Azazus. Before attempting to submit your draft again, there are problems that need fixing. MusicBrainz and Genius are user-generated content, so not reliable sources. They should be removed. ReverbNation is another low quality source. Try to use sources from among the reliable ones listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums/Sources. If you can't find sources there that contain significant coverage of Azazus, then the topic may not meet Wikipedia's inclusion criteria at this time. If you can find such sources, make it clear in the lead why Azazus is notable. TikTok and YouTube views don't equal notability. --Worldbruce (talk) 06:14, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I want a helper because so I can create a article right

Chikukiri (talk) 06:55, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Chikukiri, This process is about doing your best and following the guidance reviewers give you. Wikipedia:Mentorship may be what you are looking for. Might I suggest that "I would like some help, is there someone who can give me guidance to creating an article well, please?" is likely to win you more friends than the way you stated your need. If English is not your first language then why not start with the version of Wikipedia in your native language? Fiddle Faddle 20:57, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

08:11:55, 31 July 2020 review of draft by 196.190.154.217[edit]

There are a plenty of news covering about OMN in Ethiopian news, Government media and in BBC, DW and VOA that broadcast in local language. There is also thesis on OMN influence for Master degree graduation published. Though they are independent, I was wondering if these are considered valid/reliable source to approve the article creation.

11:20:45, 31 July 2020 review of submission by Akshaysathish001[edit]

Akshaysathish001 (talk) 11:20, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Akshaysathish001 You don't ask a question, but your draft has been rejected, meaning it will not be considered further. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not social media for people to tell the world about themselves. Please review the autobiography policy. Wikipedia is only interested in what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about you, not in what you want to say about yourself. If you just want to tell the world about yourself, you should use social media. 331dot (talk) 11:29, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Blueroom513 (talk) 11:43, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Blueroom513, I assume this is about Draft:Samantha Morley. You need more references to indicate notability. Without those extra references, I don’t see much notability, due to a lack of major roles in acting. Eternal Shadow Talk 16:03, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

12:41:03, 31 July 2020 review of draft by PK2112[edit]

I understand the daunting task of managing Wikipedia content and I empathize with the "never-ending" nature of what the reviewers have to deal with, however, I am having a difficult time understanding what constitutes references. I have cited many articles from publications as well as links to several different manufacturer's information about this technology.

One of the suggestions was to add this information to the existing article "Drum Motor". When I examine this PUBLISHED page, there is only one cited reference and it is to a patent. It was pointed out by one reviewer of my article that citing patents "does not constitute significant coverage". Yet for this page it is the only citation. The content appears, to me anyway and per the comments at the top of the page, as being highly subjective as if it is just the opinion of the author. Yet this article was allowed to be published, but mine is not. It is not that I disagree with any of the reviewers of my article, it just appears that the same standards have not been applied to the Drum Motor article.

One reviewer's comment was that this information is a little too specific for a general encyclopedia. I certainly understand this comment and I agree to a certain extent but since my article was last revisited, there have been multiple conveyor units with this technology installed in every single Wal-Mart Super-Center in the USA. That is over 1,200 stores. There are hundreds of small robots in Amazon facilities around the world with conveyor beds that use this technology (I even saw this on TV). If I revisit this article and include some references from "general public sources" about these particular systems (newspaper? magazine?), would that tip the scales in favor of publication?

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration of this article!

PK2112, I am taking a little time to look at your submission. I will leave a comment upon it in due course Fiddle Faddle 13:17, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
PK2112, please don't be concerned that the other article you refer to has but one reference. What you've highlighted is that it needs more. Were you to choose to merge your draft with it then you might enjoy seeking out those references Fiddle Faddle 13:40, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

14:06:07, 31 July 2020 review of submission by ToFf[edit]

Hi Robert McClenon, I would like to know what should be improved in the draft for Craig Xen. I think Craig Xen has acquired enough notability to have a Wikipedia page. Multiple references were added (not just passing mentions). Also, Craig Xen should not be redirected to Members Only anymore because he is no longer part of the collective. Thank you.

ToFf (talk) 14:06, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:ToFf - The musical notability criteria are detailed and specific. I asked which musical notability criteria were met. All that was done was to add more references without answering my question as to what musical notability criterion was met. I didn't ask for more references. In Wikipedia, references are what is known as a necessary but not sufficient condition. There is a myth that one can get a draft accepted by adding more references. Sometimes one can, and sometimes one cannot. By continuing to add more references when I asked which criterion was met, you were wasting my time and yours. I am trying to create a page for Phil Harrison, CEO of global architecture firm Perkins and Will. I got a notice that this person was not of significant notability. I would like more information on what helps make a person notable.

Ntillotsonpw (talk) 16:42, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It reads like an entry in a directory. It doesn't say what third parties have written about him. Also, do you have any conflict of interest? Your only edits have to do with that architectural firm. Robert McClenon (talk) 20:14, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

22:37:33, 31 July 2020 review of submission by ToFf[edit]

Hi Robert McClenon, I looked at the musical notability and here is some of the criterias that are met :

- Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable. (Craig Xen has been the subject of articles published by XXL and Notion). Links : https://www.xxlmag.com/tags/craig-xen/ , https://notion.online/craig-xen/

- Has released two or more albums on a major record label. (Craig Xen has two projects and multiple songs released by label Empire). Links : https://www.empi.re/blog.php?p=craig-xen--broken-kids-club-ep , https://millsrecordcompany.com/Artist/5036432

- Is a musician who has been a reasonably prominent member of two or more independently notable ensembles. (Craig Xen has been a member of both hip hop collectives Schema Posse and Members Only)

- Has received non-trivial coverage in independent reliable sources of an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country. (Craig Xen went on tour in different American states and different countries in Europe) Link : https://www.jambase.com/band/craig-xen/tour-history

ToFf, I’m checking it out, will reply in a few minutes. Eternal Shadow Talk 22:55, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
ToFf, the problem with that draft is that the sources are not reliable, secondary sources. This is needed for verifiability. Eternal Shadow Talk 22:59, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
ToFf, also: I don’t see much notability in that draft. You need to listen to the advice of reviewers and use it to improve that draft. You may need to blow it up. It is extremely hard to get a draft to mainspace after rejection. Eternal Shadow Talk 23:03, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I only Reject a draft if its resubmission is wasting my time and the author's. If I had been given the above answers on the last resubmission, I wouldn't have rejected it. If a reviewer asks a question about criteria, it is better to answer the question than to just provide references. Robert McClenon (talk) 01:42, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Theluzgang, You haven’t asked a question. Eternal Shadow Talk 23:04, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Theluzgang, if the mainspace copy is kept, you won’t need the draft anymore, but if not you can improve the draft as normal. Eternal Shadow Talk 23:08, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
