This could be a school group, I can't tell. While these don't have user pages, there are subpages for all of these. Suspected sockpuppets


The suspected sockpuppet has used an edit summary on his/her first edit and created a sandbox on his/her third edit, which implies knowledge of Wikipedia editing practices that are beyond what a newbie usually has. He/She also had a citation style similar to one of Whalestate's sockpuppets (which he/she has since partially changed due to my constant fixes on them):

He/She has demonstrated a lack of knowledge of spacing between sections during editing on the Salah Abdeslam article, much like the sockpuppets that operated on the same article:

Let it also be known that the suspected sockpuppet has been editing diligently on the Infinity (philosophy) article, which the sockmaster has also worked on diligently:

Suspected sockpuppets[edit]


First and foremost, the suspected sock account's username pretty much follows the same style as previously confirmed sock accounts Aikiangelos, Antrangelos, and Betangelos.

Both also have a tendency to put a plus sign as the only thing in their edit summaries:

  • Losangelos example: [2]

Finally, in his/her brief history, the suspected sock account has worked diligently in the Salah Abdeslam article, which was a playing ground for a number of previously confirmed sock accounts Aikiangelos, Antrangelos, Salah Abdeslam, and 6cb49af5c4.   • Editor Interaction Analyser demonstrates editing of same obscure, esoteric articles
  • Using > symbol fairly consistently in edit summaries, and bracketing edit summaries with < >
  • Using "anchor" fairly consistently in edit summaries
  • Using + symbol fairly consistently in edit summaries
  • User spaces used in same way, compare eg User:Whalestate/poems, User:Mekhane and User:Mekhane/sandbox
  • Drift chambers is blocked for "insufficient competence to edit" but their edit summaries, editor interaction and user space leads me to believe that this is a previous account used by the same editor.

WP:DUCK. Begins editing immediately at De Beneficiis, a page created by suspected sock User:Drift chambers, and African divination, a page created by puppeteer and effectively only edited by puppeteer and their socks. Use of Google books urls, " + " symbol as edit summaries, creation of user sandbox - just as with all other accounts - within 5 minutes of beginning editing. The 2 articles edited are extremely niche and esoteric, and clear indicators that this is a block-evading sock. Keri (talk) 09:09, 20 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Pink clock Awaiting administrative action - Not only did 1a16additonal re-add contentious content originally added by 23h112e (diff 1, diff 2), they chose to keep the exact wording despite it being awkward or even grammatically incorrect in places. All these reasons don't actually indicate anything other than superficial similarities. There might be any one who edits the article - Infinity (philosophy), Socrates, especially Socrates, as the article is a well known individual. Similarities between one users edits and anothers is only evidence of the similarity between people (i.e. there are people who are similar, and do have similar interests). As to check on IP address, User:23h112e (i.e. this user) is using a public network. 23h112e (talk) 21:54, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • This, I should clarify. As part of my work at Wikipedia:Requested moves, I reverted an undiscussed move of the page mentioned by 23h112e here. This was the first time I interacted with the user, and the first time I interacted with that page. I later followed up with messages about listening to consensus at User talk:23h112e. It is true that I was pinged by the user today, but the reason I discovered these connections was because of the instigation of the ANI thread, not because of anything that took place at Talk:List of school shootings in the United States, an article in which I have no editorial interest.
