Suspected sockpuppets


User was indefinitely blocked for copyright violations, has subsequently created socks here and on Commons carrying out the same copyvios Chindia (China-India) (talk · contribs) and Goldfinger123 (talk · contribs) are two. He's also been IP socking ever since his first block, but the ranges are too wide for us to block and collateral damage is also too high (checked by Jpgordon a couple of times before through talk page requests). Some of the IP socks used within a two week period a couple of months ago are listed at Category:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of Vrghs jacob. It's mostly a copyvio problem, I've protected a few pages and run through a clean up every few weeks on other pages, but it's a tedious process (MRG and I have spent too much time on this) and I'm open to other suggestions. This user looks like sock puppet of Harishrawat11, who is Sockmaster, as he makes same page edits as Harishrawat11 edits and Nirmal95 also edited, but Nirmal95 and Nirmal2012mathew is a sockpuppet of Vrghs Jacob and Harishrawat11 is a sockpuppet of Blamecivil95 which is a sockpuppet of Vrghs jacob, so it appears as if this is an added account created by the same user.... If Harishrawat11 really is Vrghs jacob, then he complained about his own sockpuppetry to me back in November. (Longer version: a known sockpuppet of Vrghs jacob was persistently adding copyright-infringing text to Directorate General of Anti-Evasion. The sockpuppet was blocked, but the edits continued from an anonymous IP account. Harishrawat11 reverted the IP's edits, labelling them as sockpuppetry, and notified me on my user talk page. If both the IP account and Harishrawat11 are Vrghs jacob then perhaps he did this only to divert suspicion from the Harishrawat11 sockpuppet.) —Psychonaut (talk) 11:42, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The registered account is a self-admitted sockpuppet; see edit summaries at [1] and [2]. The IPs are single-purpose accounts that do nothing but edit, or post messages about, articles freshly created by the registered account. A check for further sockpuppet accounts wouldn't hurt, as this sockmaster has been known to create an awful lot of them. I blocked Japanmomo for racist attacks, but also tagged as a possible sock of Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Vrghs jacob. The link to the earlier farm is quite strong. The new account Jamesbond112 was created after I blocked Japanmomo and has continued the same behavior -- (minus the racism) compare edit summaries -- [3] vs [4]; [5] vs [6]. Vrghs jacob has had multiple active socks at a time and therefore a check to uncover those would be beneficial. —SpacemanSpiff 04:24, 28 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Disruptive editing to University of London, edit summaries are made in the similar way to Japanmomo and Jamesbond112 who heavily edited this article. Lack's engagement in talk page discussions. By edit contributions, seems to be interested in this university and Indian biographies. Diffs: [7] [8] [9] [10]
