Suspected sockpuppets


  • Thurmondt (created 2019-07-08):
    • Blocked as NOTHERE vandal on 2019-08-09
    • Declares they are an autistic teen
    • At some point, deletes and then re-adds their block notification and signs it with Thurmondt. Amusingly, here, he changes the sig to Helpertt.
  • UhZeletics (created 2019-09-08):
    • Special:Permalink/914711703 is the first edit by this new user, to his user talk page. Note location, autism, surname (fortunately removed 6 minutes later, though since they may be a minor, it might be good to revdel?). Note initials "TT". Name is consistent with Thurmondt.
    • Second edit, to their user page, says this brand-new user is here to fight vandalism.
    • This edit awards an admin barnstar to Helpertt, which was created less than two months earlier, had no interaction with him, and was certainly not an admin.
  • Helpertt (created 2019-08-09):
    • Note username is "Helper" plus initials TT.
    • Talk page says this new user is here to fight vandalism, was recently in high school, and is "retiring from being a Wikipedia Administrator".
    • User page says they are semi-retired from WP, were an admin, and gives the same location as Uhzeletics.
  • SimpleComplxions (created 2019-09-26):
    • Renamed from Tdiddybot (T being relevant to either given name or surname)
    • Some nonsense shared with UhZeletics about "oof"
  • Plaisantthu (created 2019-07-11):

If needed, there may be more of interest in talk page histories, since they spend a lot of time removing things and editing deceptively. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 08:32, 29 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

All named accounts are  Confirmed, plus:

Several of these accounts are already locked due to long term abuse, but I've been unable to ascertain which LTA case they belong to; pinging User:Bsadowski1 who imposed the global locks in case there's a different master. For now, I've blocked and tagged all of the above as socks of Thurmondt. Yunshui 雲水 08:22, 2 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets

Thadthurmond365 added a block template to an IP's talk page which is what Thurmondt did here. The userpage of Thadthurmond365 also bears a resemblance to other sock User:Helpertt and User:UhZeletics in relation to fighting vandalism and administrator-related information. -- LuK3 (Talk) 00:02, 19 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Considering that I have no idea who this user is, and have no relationship with them, your evidence may be denied. Please do not falsely accuse me of being someone who I am not. This is considered personal attack, and is a Wikipedia policy violation. If needed, I may report this. Quack. I was thinking of opening this myself pending the response to my talk page query about the connection. Totally unconvincing response, so here's more evidence:

  1. Name similarity to Thurmondt.
  2. Post on globally locked sock Helpertt's talk page: [1] (user has not edited in 6 months and no explanation to my request for an explanation of any connection)
  3. Post on globally locked master Thurmondt's talk page: [2] (user has not edited in 6 months and no explanation to my request for an explanation of any connection)
  4. Claims to be grandson of Strom Thurmond and son of Paul Thurmond [3]. One of the blocked socks previously stated "if you want to call me Thad, you may" and "My father is Paul Thurmond!" [4]
  5. Similar interest in adminship expressed by accounts with almost zero history.
  6. Similar apparent WP:CIR issues (or trolling, take your pick). Meters (talk) 01:06, 19 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets

Similarities to previous socks:

  1. disruptive edits that could be trolling or simply WP:CIR.
  2. whitewashing Strom Thurmond [5]
  3. "t" at end of username is characteristic of many of user's usernames
  4. awards an admin barnstar to a non-admin (to me for going straight to a level 3 warning for his blatant whitewashing of Strom Thurmond as his second main space edit) [6]
  5. Falsely claims to be an admin with one of his first edits [7]
  6. offers to help fighting vandalism ( and promos, SPIs, etc) in one of his first edits [8]
  7. expresses interest in Thurmond family [9]
  8. immediately retires when called out, with a message similar to his previous retirement messages, and in which he claims to be Thurmondt [10] Meters (talk) 03:30, 18 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets



Points of Concern:

1. Same name as sock Thurmondt, 2 has been added.


2. Note letters, T.


3. Vandalism on an article on Robert Ziff, kept putting information that didn't have citations, and reverted edits made by another user.


4. Put a sock block template in sandbox, and first reversion, it was made on his talk page.


5. Note same IP as his other sock accounts, the master being User: Thurmondt.
