  • The master is not stale, but what I can see from them is all on proxies, so I have no idea about their location. These new accounts are on different IPs, but they geolocate to the same city as each other (and don't appear to be using proxies). They're obviously throwaway SPAs, so I'm blocking as suspected, closing. Girth Summit (blether) 15:09, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

New accounts and IPs keep trying to revert my edits cleaning up the StrongDM page. It happened with Johnnyzerocool, the IP and now kevin6789. This is the only page that these accounts have edited and it's to add a list of patents held by the company, which doesn't even seem that interesting. The original page creator was blocked as a sockpuppet if that helps. I originally cleaned up the page to remove COI tags but these editors keep undoing these changes so I tagged it again in the meantime. BuySomeApples (talk) 04:20, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

StrongDM was published in January of 23 with over 40 references.
An editor named Lamona came in and cut that down to 32 on 15th of January.
On July 7th a sock came in and put a paid editing tag on.
On Aug. 1st, BuySomeApples came in and somehow edited or reference siphoned it down to 18 while removing some of the most notable information about the company. Most likely with the intention of eventually nominating it for deletion.
Several editors have restored some information to the account and had the references up to 26 while restoring information about the former ceo being one of the first women to raise over $100M and the company’s patents
On Oct. 28th, BuySomeApples came back and continues to remove the patent information which is properly referenced. This time he added a paid contributions tag.
BuySomeApples has a very scattered editing history which participates in some AFD’s and does not have enough on a steady history to take this much interest in this page. He is also likely to be the same banned sock at Buysomebananas and Buysomebeer.
He has also a very similar scattered editing history, that is almost identical behavior wise to Lamona who also reference siphoned this page previously.
To me this looks like a competitor intent on vandalizing the page. Can I get a checkuser? What are the options? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Besides this page they voted the same way on an oddball deletion discussion. Not proof but it certainly adds some suspicion since the Lamona came in after the relisting and influenced the vote in the way BuySomeApples voted.

Also these two accounts have been banned as sockpuppets and their names are quite similar to BuySomeApples. There are about 30 accounts under BuySomeBananas sock investigation

Also, when did patent information not become relevant to Wikipedia. We have a specific template just so they can be properly formatted for inclusion.
Perhaps, closing this as an investigation opened by a very active sockpuppet would be appropriate. Perhaps banning his IP might help too. 144.178.0.146 (talk) 20:39, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
