Thanks for correcting that copy vio[edit]

I had no idea that an official plot synopsis could be a copy vio. Maybe I should've sourced it elsewhere? Same content, but different source. Could BRZRKR: Poetry of Madness really be considered that? ToNeverFindTheMets (talk) 21:44, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@ToNeverFindTheMets: So, the problem is that you're not supposed to copy text from anywhere on the internet unless it's in the public domain or under a free license. (And if it is one of those two things, you should still attribute it to the original source). In the future, you should try to describe the synopsis or plot in your own words. BuySomeApples (talk) 21:46, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, fyi. BRZRKR: Fallen Empire has this problem too, i appended the text, and sourced the IGN dude's description so that's still a problem. IDK how to nom delete it, I'm a noob lol. letting you know. ToNeverFindTheMets (talk) 21:49, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the heads up! I'll fix it. BuySomeApples (talk) 21:52, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Noted. Thank you for your guidance and correction. Will come up with a plot so it can be there sans issue ToNeverFindTheMets (talk) 21:51, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And, thanks for cleaning up my crap. Truly appreciate your work on this stuff I've edited. ToNeverFindTheMets (talk) 21:55, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@ToNeverFindTheMets: Don't worry about it, it's a group project, thank you for creating these pages! BuySomeApples (talk) 22:00, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Page review[edit]

Hi @BuySomeApples, Hope your doing good, If Possible can you please copyedit and review this draft article Draft:Sreshth Movies. Sorry for bothering you, Thanks in advance Nss999 (talk) 09:38, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'll take a look at it @Nss999: but I'm not super familiar with Indian sources so I might not review it myself. BuySomeApples (talk) 16:10, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Copy editing on Draft:Saho-Hime[edit]

hiya! From what I've gathered Copy editing is basically checking grammar. I will do that! Also the page needs to be moved from Draft:Saho-Hime to Saho-hime when in mainspace. Thanks! Camillz (talk) 16:07, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Camillz: yes, the page basically just needs some improvements to grammar and formatting so it's easier to understand. Once that's done, the page will be reviewed more quickly. BuySomeApples (talk) 16:09, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm just after going over it and editing what's needed. Feel free to make another changes if needed, although it seems fine. Camillz (talk) 16:11, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Fursan al-Aqsa: The Knights of the Al-Aqsa Mosque[edit]

On 30 March 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Fursan al-Aqsa: The Knights of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the video game Fursan al-Aqsa received an update that allows players to reenact the October 7 attacks on Israel? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Fursan al-Aqsa: The Knights of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Fursan al-Aqsa: The Knights of the Al-Aqsa Mosque), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

New Pages Patrol newsletter April 2024[edit]

Hello BuySomeApples,

New Page Review queue January to March 2024

Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.

Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.

Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.

It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!

2023 Awards

Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!

WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.

Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.

Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.
