Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

Ritvik12 and 24.130.48.156 were blocked for repeated additon of unsourced trivia/SYN to Tom and Jerry cartoon articles, with Ritvik12 eventually indeffed for responding to the newest block with personal attacks. It is quite clear they are ona and the same.[1]/[2],

Marole3, idle since May 2016, is now back, restoring some of the trivia previously added by Ritvik12/24.130.48.156 (and visa versa).

  • Trivia added by 24.130.48.156.[3] Much of it restored by Marole3.[4]
  • Trivia added by Marole3.[5] Much of it restored by 24.130.48.156.[6]
  • Marole3's last edit for the evening @ 01:29, July 19, 2016. Yoshifan55 picks up at 01:35.
  • Yoshi stops editing @ 04:28, July 17, 2016. Marole picks up at 04:54.
  • Yoshi stops @ 00:33, July 10, 2016. Marole edits at 00:39 and 00:45. Yoshi returns at 01:04.
  • Marole's July 10 edits are asking Oshwah to undelete an image.[7][8] Yoshi's asked for the same file to be restored on the same day, but a different venue.[9] - SummerPhDv2.0 00:55, 28 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

One of this editor's prior socks said they had created a new account.[10] Here it is, Bbb23, fresh outta the gates restoring some of their prior trivia.[11] SummerPhDv2.0 04:51, 7 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Do we have the correct sockmaster? I think this may be User:Who R U?. --Ebyabe talk - Border Town ‖ 06:05, 7 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

So you admit you are a sockpuppet. That helps. --Ebyabe talk - State of the Union ‖ 05:45, 7 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

Repeated addition of unsourced trivia to Tom and Jerry shorts: [13] [14] [15] [16]. This person has been editing anonymously on a daily basis (Here are just a sample of some of the IP's they have used in the past week: Special:Contributions/2600:1010:B06F:9CC6:75C7:8B84:6E2E:BC9B, Special:Contributions/2600:1010:B00E:E76:8857:A774:B981:4F8E, Special:Contributions/2600:1010:B05F:EEC6:7060:5588:29F9:F2B9, Special:Contributions/2600:1010:B047:E5A5:7388:65CD:C62B:65EF, Special:Contributions/2600:1010:B003:181B:2E6B:A82C:9DCB:9A06, etc.), and since they will just be assigned a new IP address the next time, I was wondering if a rangeblock would be possible. Sro23 (talk) 17:10, 25 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I added new IP 70.197.8.125, which complicates things as it is outside the usual range. Sro23 (talk) 03:08, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Today, the latest IPsock admits it:[17] Sro23 (talk) 17:35, 6 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ritvik12 socks are known for refactoring and in general being disruptive on talk pages, which is why all the accounts have had talk page access disabled. Today I added 2600:1010:B04F:3A52:2306:137A:EF4C:89AB and User:BranchGuy180. BranchGuy180 made this edit to my talk page (notice under the Ritvik12 discussion, he added the word "golden"), and 2600:1010:B04F:3A52:2306:137A:EF4C:89AB made a similar edit to User talk:Lowchunsen (someone who's been editing articles in Ritvik12's interest area), made this edit which restored trivia, plus the IP is in the correct range. Sro23 (talk) 16:21, 8 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
BranchGuy180 just made a similar edit to User talk:Trivialist, another user who has been active in the SPI as you can see below. Sro23 (talk) 02:30, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
And just made these edits which inserted trivia:[18] [19] [20] Sro23 (talk) 14:36, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

Each sock will add unsourced trivia to a cartoon by reverting to a much older version of the article (see [22] vs [23]). Individual blocks of the IP's would be pointless, as he would just be assigned a new one the next day, so I'm asking if rangeblocks are at all possible. Note the listed sockpuppets are just the IP's that have been active these past couple weeks. These aren't highly watched pages, so nearly every single day for almost six months now I've been cleaning up after this sockmaster's vandalism, and it's driving me insane. • Withdrawing own request as I'm sure rangeblocks are implausible. Oddly enough, the vandalism stopped soon after I filed this SPI. Sro23 (talk) 18:33, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

NinjaRobotPirate blocked Fullerplace67 (Fullerplace67 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)) as a probable sockpuppet of Ritvik12 on 2 December 2019. In February, Household67 showed up and began making the same edits as Fullerplace67 did, most obviously reverting back and forth between two versions of the TV Land article:

The edit pattern can be seen more obviously by either looking at the history of the TV Land article or looking at the contribution history of both users. Also note the similarity in the two usernames. Aoi (青い) (talk) 04:55, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

WP:DUCK. See this edit by Unritten56 (and this edit by IP 24.7.76.102) vs this edit by a prior blocked sockpuppet.

Note the block log of the IP, and note that the prior contributions by the IP suggest that the IP has been static since January 2018. Aoi (青い) (talk) 01:05, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • CheckUser requested and endorsed by clerk - Looking for wisdom on a year long hardblock of 24.7.76.102. Based on what I can see, this looks like a single-user long-term static assignment, so I'm guessing it's OK, but you guys have better goggles than I do. -- RoySmith (talk) 22:15, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • All I can tell you from the logs of Ritvik12 is that it's  Possible. The listed sock geolocates to a relatively-close location as the listed master. That's all the information that I could find and give, unfortunately... ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:46, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
What I was actually asking was whether there was any hidden collateral damage which might happen from the hardblock. I'll take your answer as a "no" and go ahead and hardblock the IP. -- RoySmith (talk) 21:36, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I believe the diffs say it all, but it's also worth noting that the geolocation of this IP is very similar to those of prior IPs used by Ritvik12. Aoi (青い) (talk) 08:13, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
