WP:DUCK evidence: same focus on obscure Greek topics, especially railway stations and Achaea-related articles, same bad level of translation from Greek to English with weird mistranslations, same fixation (highly unusual and IMO a dead giveaway) on creating redirects for every conceivable transliteration of a Greek name (at Aitoliko Railway Station). Although a new account, this is obviously a user with some experience in WP. Per WP:DUCK, he displays all the behavioural editing quirks of Pumpie: fixtion on obscure Greek articles of villages, mountains, railway-related articles and football clubs (his very first edit was on a very obscure railway station, an article created by Pumpie), mis-translations from the Greek WP (see Chlomo, Arcadia Football Clubs Association and Kyrtoni), creation of redirects with any conceivable spelling variant ([1], with the telling peculiarity that even though there is no other Kyrtoni anywhere, he still creates "Kyrtoni, Greece" as a redirect). His complete misunderstanding of both Greek and English is evident in translations like "Κύπελλο Ήθους" ("Ethos/Moral Cup") to "Characteristic Cup". Further peculiarities that point to Pumpie are his phonetic rendering of Greek regions like Boeotia as Voiotia or Phthiotis as Fthiotida, as well as his insistence to include every possible nearby locality or other geographical feature in his mountain articles, even when it is not mentioned in the original Greek WP article (for instance at Chlomo), probably gathered via Google Earth or similar resources. Very similar behaviour: same topics (localities and railway stations in Greece), same copy-paste edits from other articles without checking whether the content is actually relevant or valid for the new article (e.g. wrong coordinates as in this example corrected by me, I can provide 20-30 more examples), or even history as in this example corrected by me). No response whatsoever to comments on his/her talk page. Markussep Talk 15:02, 12 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A very clear case of WP:DUCK: same focus on obscure Greek, Portuguese and French articles, same mangled translations from the Greek wikipedia (e.g. Atalanti Lagoon), the tendency to use phonetic transliterations instead of traditional names for Greek regions (Viotia and Fokida instead of Boeotia and Phocis) and, more importantly, the unique persistence in creating every possible spelling variant as a redirect for an article. Constantine 16:17, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not to mention incomprehensible rants, or incoherent replies like this, which is on the same league with this, this, or any of his replies in his old talk page, where he promises to improve his editing skills and then gets off on a (usually incomprehensible) tangent. Very similar topics and behaviour: useless redirects for places in Greece, bad translations from Greek with erroneous copies from other articles, another bad translation apparently from Greek wikipedia or this one using phrases like "It elevated to a town in 1928" and "No prominence would be largely heard within Alalcomenae during the Medieval times." There's little to add to the above report, it is a textbook case of block evasion. I would suggest that given the amount of disruption he creates, it might be worth beginning to salting the articles he creates and semi-protecting the articles he edits. De728631 was hasty and sloppy in his eradication of Laalaalaaa (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · spi block · block log · CA · CheckUser(log· investigate · cuwiki). Besides leaving a redlink here (and I don't know where else, as both Laalaalaaa’s and De728631’s Contributions pages omit the deleted pages, so I can’t check What links here), the good faith edits I made (particularly to Template:Valparaíso Metro map, Template:Valparaíso Metro route map and Template:Valparaíso Metro RDT) were just as thoroughly deleted as if I had also been permanently blocked.

(Of course, even when a page with a Speedy deletion template has content on its talk page to “"Contest this speedy deletion”, admins seem to ignore them anyway: see the full history of Template:Line 8 (Madrid Metro) and its talk page for an example. I was luckily able to restore my edits only because I happened to be able to recover them from my browser cache.)

Useddenim (talk) 18:23, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry for deleting your contributions at the Valparaiso template, but imo the substantial work there was done by Laalaalaaa in the first place so the page did qualify for speedy deletion. I'd also like to note that Template:Line 8 (Madrid Metro) was deleted by Callanecc on 24 May 2014 and hasn't even been touched by me. As frustrating as it must be to see your work deleted this way, please consider also that building upon the work of sockpuppet editors will only encourage them to continue. And even accurate and verifiable content may have been added in violation of Wikipedia's policy if it comes from a user who has been denied access. De728631 (talk) 22:48, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  1. At least one diff is from the sockmaster (or an account already blocked as a confirmed sockpuppet of the sockmaster), showing the behaviour characteristic of the sockmaster.
  2. At least one diff per suspected sockpuppet, showing the suspected sockpuppet emulating the behaviour of the sockmaster given in the first diff.

16 June 2018[edit]

Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

First off, the obvious: User:Terriffic Friendy-o 6 was blocked as a Pumpie sock on 21 February 2014; new account (with the inimitable spelling of "Terriffic"; for the record, User:Funkariffic2 was the first of Pumpie's socks) created on 24 February 2014 (log). That alone is evidence that there is sockpuppetry at play.

Second, the behavioural evidence to link it with the original sockmaster: fixation with Cape Verde, Sao Tome e Principe, and other Portuguese-speaking countries and football/soccer (the move log is evidence enough for the new sock, and User:Markussep's list of all the articles Pumpie edited should prove the overlap), and lately a return to obscure Greek articles related particularly to Achaea and environs ([20], [21], [22]) which is what brought him to my notice. The combination Lusophone countries-football-Greece (and specifically Achaea) is unique and as strong Pumpie hallmark as can be.

His poor English and failure to grasp the context when translating from Greek are very well evident in Varasova (an article started by Pumpie), where he obviously relied on the Greek WP's article (without attribution). His efforts resulted in writing that Paliovouna is a "surrounding mountain" of Varasova, which is another mountain; expressions like "Agio Oros (Agion Oros)" which are nonsensical since these are the same name in two different forms, but which point to another of Pumpie's hallmarks: his inability to distinguish the forms of the Greek names (between Demotic Greek, Katharevousa, or completely nonsense forms invented by him). This led to the tendency (reduced in comparison to the original sock, but still there) to create redirects for every conceivable transliteration of a Greek name (e.g. for Makyneia, the new sock created [23] and [24]). That he does not understand the concept of transliteration is evident from the accompanying edit summaries or the text he includes: "rare alternate form" or utterly misunderstood "alternate modern form" and "secondary form" at Varasova for what are simply different transliterations of the same Greek name. This edit is also weird: "the place name used outside Aetolia-Acarnania" is complete bollocks, but it is precisely the sort of thing Pumpie would write... This dissonance with the actual use of Greek language or the meaning of Greek names and terms was a strong hallmark of Pumpie, and a major plank in the WP:COMPETENCEISREQUIRED argument that led to his being blocked in the first place. Another concern of Pumpie's were railway stations, and the sock account does the same ([25], notably to the French wiki, from where Pumpie often used to (mis)translate Greek railway station articles). Both the transliteration redirect fixation and the railway articles are easily evident in the last hundreds of edits of Pumpie before being blocked. While I can detect some slight improvement (or rather, autotranslators have come a long way since then), still his contributions need major cleanup. Just for the record, a typical Pumpie-ism in Kryoneri, Aetolia-Acarnania that leaves anyone not already knowing what he "translated" from scratching his head: "In 1997, Kryoneri became part of the municipality of Chalkeia since 2011".

User:Markussep, who was one of the editors who had most to do with the original account, brought this account to SPI in September 2015 but this was dismissed, which is very surprising, given the name alone. I can probably spend some time to find more diffs of identical edits, but TBH this account gives off so strong feeling of deja vu that immediately after I came across the latest edits I thought of him. It literally reeks of Pumpie-ness to anyone who has interacted with him. Constantine 22:01, 16 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It's been almost two weeks since filing this without any response by an admin, and the horrible "translated" articles keep piling up. I completely agree that Terriffic Dunker Guy's behaviour is very, very similar to that of Pumpie. The same fascination for Cape Verdean football clubs, Cape Verdean and Greek geography and railway stations (see the User Compare report above) and the same unintelligible English ("Dunes do not blow towards the area of Ponta do Sol as the dunes are not blown into that area.", "Also almost to the west is a little bit of the uppermost portion of the island of Fogo.", "Palmeira is the place where some views of the surrounding areas are seen ...") . Markussep Talk 09:09, 19 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I just looked at the EIA (huge amount of overlap on very low-profile articles) and combined that with the evidence posted by Cplakidas. Definitely a duck in my opinion. - LouisAragon (talk) 16:12, 29 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This does not have anything to do with proof of sockpuppetry, but Terriffic Dunker Guy's edits on lunar articles are a mixed bag of useful edits and stupid redundancy. For example, he used data in the infobox of a lunar crater article like the the diameter and then copied it to the article text so he could then mention the area and perimeter. It was not wrong exactly but I just felt it was clutter - anyone can calculate an area or perimeter from a diameter. Another thing he did was to calculate where the earth would appear in the sky, for example in article on Conon crater, where he states this "From that location the Earth would appear in the lunar sky at over 21 degrees from the top and it is seen more than 2 degrees towards the west, sometimes it can be seen a few degrees outward.. Also the sun rises just before or during the third quarter of Earthshine and the sun sets just before its first quarter." Again, this is derivative information from the crater's coordinates. This kind of thing is more appropriate at actual Apollo landing sites or perhaps proposed future ones, but not for every crater. Obviously that's not the best grammar either. I'm sure I'll be spending time scrubbing these redundant edits from the articles. He did add in some good wikilinks and external links at times though. Jstuby (talk) 13:58, 14 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

Exactly the same topics and articles as recently blocked sockpuppet User:Terriffic Dunker Guy (who admitted he/she is Pumpie), for instance Cape Verdean football clubs and astronomic objects, the same tendency to increase picture sizes, "for newer computer screens", this "rarely intelligible" edit summary, and the same horrible English: "The defending champions Sporting Praia also qualified, the club finished fourth in the regional season, four positions Académica Praia, made the next few seasons that a club qualfiied only as 2017 national champions.".
