Suspected sockpuppets

User:Oanabay04 edits on articles relating to the Our Gang film series. After a failure to follow the relevant MOS for infoboxes, several edits were reverted. A few days later, the sock IP pops up to revert these changes:

I'm fairly certain that if you check what articles the IP editor has edited they'll match the sockmaster's articles. Let me know if you need anymore evidence. The edit pattern also shows that the sockmaster alternates between logging in and out between edits to WP:GAME the system. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 06:58, 29 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Additional: I now suspect User:Tomatosoup97 of being linked, following these two reverts:
One
Two

This user has made less than 50 edits since 2012 and suddenly pops up after six months of inactivty to revert the articles as per the IP/sockmaster. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 19:05, 29 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • CheckUser requested and endorsed by clerk - To compare Oanabay04 with Tomatosoup97. Vanjagenije (talk) 22:35, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • The two named accounts are  Confirmed. I've blocked the master for two weeks, blocked and tagged the puppet, and blocked the IP for one week. Closing.--Bbb23 (talk) 23:40, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

07 September 2015[edit]

Suspected sockpuppets

After the initial sockpuppetry finding Oanabay04 was indeffed for block evasion. Later investigation uncovered massive copyright infringement, with several articles being deleted wholesale. One of these was SEPTA diesel service, an article which Oanabay04 effectively owned from creation. Not three hours after the article was deleted the two listed new accounts appeared to create redirects to SEPTA Regional Rail (which is valid). I strongly doubt that this is the act of two(!) new users. Given the user's long tenure and history of socking I doubt strongly that he'll just go away, and I'd be interested to know if there are other accounts lurking. • Thanks. Behaviorally, the editing by Bnlboyardee89 (specifically a mix of pop culture and arcane Philadelphia transit topics) makes him a lock if there's technical evidence. Mackensen (talk) 17:38, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've blocked and tagged Bnlboyardee89. Although Hfbjhjcvv and Bgfiiggh are fairly obviously one person, the two edits (one each) are not disruptive. Therefore, I'm not blocking them. Closing.--Bbb23 (talk) 19:03, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

While I know check user cannot be used here, in this edit, the IP dumped back in prior contributions from Oanabay04 that were removed as a major copyright violation, one of the many that lead to the user's indefinite block as a serial plagarist, during which time it was also discovered that they were a serial sockmaster. Looking at the IP's contribution history, there's a major overlap between the IP and the areas where Oanabay04 used to edit. oknazevad (talk) 21:28, 24 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

Suspect these may be more IP socks of Oanabay04. Defining characteristic is the obsession with the former SEPTA diesel service, see here and here for examples from the first IP, and here and here for examples for the second. Note in particular that the two edits to Fox Chase Line are nearly identical from the two different IPs. 72.92.45.135 is currently week-blocked for disruptive editing after warning. Quacks like a duck: mass addition of POV content to SEPTA Regional Rail and lots of edits to old comedy shorts. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 21:11, 19 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • IP is shockingly still active. Blocked it for a while. Case closed. Courcelles (talk) 01:47, 3 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

No checkuser because everything from previous reports is stale.

New Jersey IP 160.62.14.13 is registered to Novartis, the drug company.

The interaction pattern between 160.62.14.13 and Oanabay04[1] shows a distinct fingerprint of shared interests, including articles related to the music of Barenaked Ladies and the Monkees, railroads and rail equipment, Healthcare in Canada, and lots of Woody Woodpecker cartoons. This is unique, too much of an intersection to be random. Binksternet (talk) 22:38, 18 November 2021 (UTC) Binksternet (talk) 22:38, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
