See Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/John_Galea. BLP of a singer was nominated for AfD, along with articles on his records (Golddiggin, Under Attack EP, The Scrapbook EP (John Galea EP). All created by User:Johngalea24, who repeatedly removed notability tags, prods and repeatedly removed AfD template, despite warnings, until blocked. User:Johngalea24 had his userpage deleted in Aug 2013 for self-promotion. See User talk:Johngalea24 where his response to the warnings about his behaviour were met with 'STOP TRYING TO DELETE THIS ARTICLE, END OF.' After he was blocked, the AfD discussion acquired 4 new editors, all saying the article should be kept, all of which had never edited before that day. Ip User User:78.149.251.15 removed speedy deletion tag from the same article several times ([5] [6]). First few times, the tag was removed by User:Carlosdean ([7] etc.), but after he recieved whole set of warnings, he continued to remove those tags as User:78.149.251.15.

This is the most persistent sock I've ever come across, determined to created a page for a singer called John Galea, and has done so at numerous titles each time one is deleted, e.g. John-Paul Galea, (Singer) John Galea and many more. This WP:SPA created John Galea (Performer) three weeks ago. As the same person has been doing this for 2 years, is there anything we can do to stop them just keep creating new accounts and new titles? This has been going on for years, it's never really stopped. A whole host of articles were created at John Galea, (Singer) John Galea, John Galeaa etc after AfD to try to force its way on. I have repeatedly suggested to IPs and socks that they submit an article for AfC as he has had some success since deletion, although I can't find that there's enough to meet WP:MUSICBIO or WP:GNG. Since the sock stopped trying to recreate article at about twenty different titles, she has been adding mentions of him in different articles where possible. I've deleted them because Galea was found non-notable and so there's no need for him to be mentioned in e.g. Notable residents of Great Yarmouth section. I have also removed his name fro the Thea Garrett article, as it seemed like an add-on and was again added by this person trying to promote Galea. I have never come across such a determined sock/edit warrior/promoter. This was the first one on Thea Garrett after I removed the written by two non-notables in the main text (if it was in discography, or if I thought it wasn't promotion by stealth and had such a history, I probably wouldn't have bothered deleting it): [12]. Then [13]. This was then removed by another editor.

On Great Yarmouth, I'm having trouble with my computer getting diff links, it won't let me click on. But you can see from [14] 1st Nov IP added Galea as a 'ntable resident', I removed it as he doesn't have an article and was found non-notable at AfD. Re-added by another IP on 18th Dec with edit summary 'stop your hate campaign' and some information on his notability (he was on a songwriting team which wrote a song which charted in Malta). I removed but messaged IP suggesting AfC if they felt he was now notable. Removed by another editor with 'no evidence of notability'. Readded 26 Dec, remove by me with edit summary 'Persistent edit warring and sockpupetry to promote a musician, see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Johngalea24/Archive.'

My concern is for the overall picture here - a very determined person trying to promote a musician and not accepted consensus at AfD, not using AfC, and trying to bully their way onto WP. This is the 21st time this has been looked into. Boleyn (talk)

After the above article was speedied, Acrylicmanp recreated it at Musican J Galea. After that one was flagged for speedy deletion, brand new user User:Sloppyart111 joined Wikipedia to remove the template, somehow being aware of "3 years ongoing problems" with Galea's Wikipedia article. --McGeddon (talk) 16:14, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Boing! said Zebedee, thanks for deleting these. I restate my support for blacklisting John+Galea and maybe we need to go a little further (e.g. J+Galea) to stop this. It's now on the blacklist. Given that John Paul Galea was a title chosen by a well-meaning new page reviewer (moving it from the creator's Musican J Galea), it should stop any articles getting very far, whatever they start as. --McGeddon (talk) 18:06, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This really is the worst case of promotion I've come across, so much over the years. 80.42.112.5 and 82.132.220.3 editing Scorcher (rapper) to include information on the musician, John Galea (they worked together on a non-notable song). The was a title blacklist on John+Galea and the information added on this non-notable musician was deleted in the many articles this sock (the most persistent I have come across) was adding into any article with a tiny connection to Galea. IP added info, I'm guessing deliberately misspelt, as John Gallea (a spelling the sock twice created an article on the musician at). I think this page should be protected from this [16] (edit warring on this over last few days) and checks to see if there is a connection between these two IPs and the previous sock (if possible as they are IPs). Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

So this has been going on for 4 years, numerous WP:SPAs to repeatedly create articles on a non-notable musician called John Galea, under many titles, leading to many titles, e.g. John-Paul Galea, John Galeaa, John Galea (musician) being blocked from creation. He/she is incredibly persistent, wearingly so, and once identified herself as Lucy, a member of his PR team. Other articles she has repeatedly added him too include Great Yarmouth. Today Peter.buliow made this first ever edit, exactly as so many before: [18]. As it was a 'pending revision' (because Lucy has done this so many times), I reverted it. It's not getting onto the mainspace anymore, which is great, but is there any way we can put a stop to this? It's taken up a lot of hours of my life I won't get back and there's no end in sight. I even contacted Lucy's company last year. My evidence is essentially long experience, reverting hundreds of mentions of Galea trying to be sneaked onto Wikipedia in the same way on the same articles, and this is a clear WP:DUCK.
