Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

All have made similar edits at Back in Black, supporting the same viewpoint with no previous edits to the article or its talk page. They appear to edit closely after each other, at similar times of day, and share similarity in editing style and behaviour.[1][2][3] Furthermore, a fair amount of similarity shows in the Editor Interaction Analyser; two of these accounts seem to have been created for the sole purpose of making the same singular edit, in the same behavioural manner.[4][5] Magatta (talk) 13:31, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

All of the listed entities here have been active at articles about up-and-coming Israeli bands, apparently to promote them. Vanished user 3642795 was previously named User:Bardberic, as may be seen at User talk:Vanished user 3642795. Special:Contributions/68.82.232.44 from Pennsylvania has just been blocked for edit warring and disruptive behavior—the IP was previously listed at this page in the September report, and was a persistent genre-warrior. The Pennsylvania IP range Special:Contributions/2601:44:C27F:83A0:0:0:0:0/64 has also been blocked: it was actively supporting these other edits.

Three weeks ago, Bardberic moved page Desert (band) to Desert (English band) to make room for Desert (Israeli band). The latter was moved to Draft:Desert (Israeli band) which has been worked on by multiple Pennsylvania IPs and Vanished user 3642795.[6][7][8]

The Scardust band page has seen the attention of these listed entities, who are using a great many self-published sources such as Facebook, Youtube, Bandcamp and websites of the bands.[9][10][11][12] Other promotional edits are unreferenced.[13]

Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

The listed account has been heavily active at the Scardust article, which had been previously edited largely by the accounts and IPs previously listed here. One of these addresses Special:Contributions/68.82.232.44 has also been editing in tow with the aforementioned account at said article.[14] Some information added was unsourced, and backed by self-published sources such as YouTube.[15] The user's edit summaries also indicate that they have been in contact with the band's singer when making these edits.[16]

Eyesofagony has also been actively searching for an admin or experienced user to "monitor" the Scardust article so that the information they added doesn't get reverted.[17][18] Eyesofagony has also stated in a message on an admin's talk page that they had been previously banned.[19]

Checkuser assistance requested for clarification and to check for sleeper accounts. Magatta (talk) 18:59, 1 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I must say that the report above is not supported by the links given above, and I question the fairness of the outcome. Just sayin. -Roxy the grumpy dog. wooF 23:04, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • I can't definitively tie Eyesofagony back to Jizzygizzyfoshizzyyy, but there's enough going on that I'm convinced Eyesofagony is either a sock of somebody, or UPE, or otherwise NOTHERE. I'll just split the difference and call them suspected. -- RoySmith (talk) 22:58, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
