Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

User has similar edit patterns to other accounts. Like others User:SoniaSotomayorFan in particular, this account is relatively new and has been making logical arguments and immediately starts commenting in Afd. Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

User:Jfkadmirer was the first to attempt to create a separate article for Alex Shieh. Although it was reverted by IP, Jfkadmirer then tried again to remove the redirect, although this time with a draft in hopes it would later become an article. And, User:Jfkadmirer also attempted removing the redirect the Phillips Academy Poll after repeated rejected Afcs, an organization which Shieh was involved in.

User:Keepabortionlegal35 has a total of six edits. Four are minor of prep schools. One of the other two edits is a comment on the Afd for the Phillips Academy Poll. Like User:Jfkadmirer, this was also against the deletion. What's more damning is that this account only had three previous edits. Is it realistic to assume that an account knows of Afds within their fourth edit? And, User:Keepabortionlegal35 removed the redirect on Alex Shieh, just like User:Jfkadmirer, with just their sixth edit (after a year-long hiatus, and has since disappeared). Edit patterns clearly match.

User:SoniaSotomayorFan has been defending Alex Shieh from deletion. First, note the similarity in usernames. User:Jfkadmirer chooses a well-known public figure (JFK) and unambiguously supports him. This account does the same with Sonia Sotomayor. Notably, the account was also created the day after User:Keepabortionlegal35 removed the redirect from the article. Within five hours, User:SoniaSotomayorFan became the first to reply to my Afd post. After the accounts string of edits on the 18th (creation), it conveniently started editing again on the 22nd, after my Afd was created. Once again, like User:Jfkadmirer and User:Keepabortionlegal35, the Afd related to Alex Shieh is the first one they edit. User:SoniaSotomayorFan attempts to hide this motive with other Afds, but aside from Leo Motley's page, this is the only Afd the account has edited multiple times and the only one related to a sockpuppet investigation User:SoniaSotomayorFan opened. And, the alleged sockmaster that User:SoniaSotomayorFan filed the allegation under just so happens to be the same one that User:Jfkadmirer had been (falsely) accused of too.   • CheckUser requested - The history behind this report is bizarre. The beginning seems to be at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Pallster where the filer, Vergilreader has been accused three times of being a sock, once back in June 2022 by Praxidicae, and again currently by SoniaSotomayorFan. In February 2023, there was another attempt to file a report against Vergilreader by an IP, Jfkadmirer, and Round and rounder, a confirmed sock of World's Lamest Critic. I reverted those edits so although they show up in the history, they aren't in the archive itself. I think there's enough evidence here to run a check, regardless of whether the filer is in fact a sock of another master. Jfkadmirer is stale, but the other two accounts are not. Of the three, Keepabortionlegal35 is the oldest, not Jfkadmirer. Bbb23 (talk) 12:57, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've come back to this SPI several times, and I'm going to close it without further action. SoniaSotomayorFan is a confirmed sock of TylerKutschbach, and they can be seen doing other Alex Shieh edits including creating the original article. As if out of nowhere, Tintinthereporter226 and Stanmarsh97, who injected themselves in the section above and at Draft:Alex Shieh, are both confirmed socks of Pohjamadesse1. I strongly believe the aforementioned are unrelated to anyone else mentioned here. Frankly this leaves a few question marks, but there's insufficient data to draw any strong conclusions. -- zzuuzz (talk) 22:30, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
