Suspected sockpuppets


This problem came to light on my Talk page when the two accounts unwittingly revealed themselves as the same person. I pointed "them" to the policy on alternative accounts and asked them to explain why they were using multiple accounts. They didn't respond. I then templated their userpages (although it would normally be the user who should pick the appropriate template) as alternative accounts (at least to publicly establish the linkage). I also left messages on the account talk pages again asking for an explanation. There's been no response for about 3 days now, and there's been no edit activity by either account (I can't know whether they've logged on). I realize that it is not a violation of policy to use multiple accounts as long as they are being used for a legitimate purpose, but I believe that the user is supposed to publicly disclose the existence of multiple accounts AND state the purpose.
