Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

Defeedme appealed a block from April 2022 was reinstated, dormant, then came alive in November 2022 to exclusively disruptively edit Klete Keller article. Was blocked again. Apparently is using this IP address to make the same changes to the lead as Defeedme. Wes sideman (talk) 17:22, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Comment I just noticed that the IP address being used is registered to MacStadium, a company that provides Cloud and VPN services, so I guess the Checkuser will probably not be as useful as it might have been otherwise. Wes sideman (talk) 17:36, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Not running any checks, as we wouldn't be able to connect IPs to accounts anyway (see WP:CUIPDISCLOSE). However, as you say, the IP belongs to a macOS cloud hosting / DevOps provider and I've blocked the range accordingly.   • I've blocked the IP for a month - I'm confident that it is the same person, but I'd block any IP making comments like that without warning, regardless of whether or not they were evading a block. Feel free to report stuff like that to AIV in future; if they persist with this, I am prepared to protect the article talk page, and your own talk page - just let me know if they keep doing it. Previous Janvez sockpuppets focused on Sylvain Charlebois. The article is now semi-protected, so that it can't be edited by IP addresses or accounts that are at least four days old and have made at least ten edits to Wikipedia. Eva.992 was created on February 2 (four days ago) and has made just over 10 edits. One of the user's first edits after becoming autoconfirmed was to remove the same content that other sockpuppets were removing – that Charlebois was investigated by his university following accusations of bullying and harassment.     This range contains 1208925819614629174706176 IP addresses. Most of it is regular IP stuff, which far outnumbers their edits. It's basically all of Comcast in that part of Florida.
