Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

Three accounts all making hoax articles about children's TV series with the same titles as their usernames (Chespin the Superhero, Korgfus the Beefeater Corgi, PC Officer Kitten) and starring Richard Pearce. McGeddon (talk) 09:53, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • I wondered about the two alleged socks when I saw the two articles. I don't know much about children's TV, so I left it to someone who did. I'd forgotten about having warned the ChespinTheSuperhero account. I'd say that QuackieTheSuperDuck (WP:DUCK) could be relevant here... Peridon (talk) 22:07, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Same behaviour as other socks, creating a hoax article that matches their username - Rufus (TV series) appears superficially sourced, but its claim about a TV series being based on a movie is sourced only to articles which mention the movie.

User:101.190.211.185 has been working on the article and making edits to the same group of articles surrounding Richard Pearce, after the BrumBrum1 socks were blocked McGeddon (talk) 09:08, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've blocked and tagged the account, but haven't done anything with the IP just yet - it looks like it's the same person, though. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 02:57, 6 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

Same hoaxing as past socks - creating a fake TV article that matches their username (in this case In the Jungle (TV Series)) and then claiming that Richard Pearce did the voiceover (1, 2). McGeddon (talk) 09:07, 4 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like User:CaptainUnderPants1 and User:DreamStoneMovie1 did similar things in January. User:Athaenara put "expressed a concern" sock templates on both talk pages at the time, but didn't take it any further, and both remain unblocked. --McGeddon (talk) 09:13, 4 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

User:RUFUStheNoop1 created another hoax article (Rufus the Noop) about a non-existent kids TV series created by Michael Jupp and voiced by Richard Pearce. User:49.195.78.183 linked to it and added similar hoax claims to other articles. McGeddon (talk) 09:31, 10 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

co-operation, setting up WP:SPA editors initially for obscure children's TV programmes, then for hoax programme articles Brummington and J. K. Rowling's The Tree of Fairy Tales. – Fayenatic London 23:02, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Further to the Clerk's note below, I agree that these clearly appear to be socks of BrumBrum1, and suggest that the case be moved to the SPI page for that user. – Fayenatic London 10:58, 27 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This case is being reviewed by Sir Sputnik as part of the clerk training process. Please allow them to process the entire case without interference, and pose any questions or concerns either on their Talk page or on this page if more appropriate.

  •  Clerk note: Behaviorally, TreeFairyTales1, Brum2, and Samuel&Nina1 appear to be BrumBrum1 socks. TreeFairyTales1 is the only non-stale account. DennisTheMenaceTV1990 is little different, because they created a non-hoax article. Sro23 (talk) 20:36, 10 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Pink clock Awaiting administrative action - There's little to go on with DennisTheMenaceTV1990. The other three named accounts are clearly BrumBrum1 socks. Please block them indefinitely. The IP's are all stale, so there's not much point in blocking them. Could an admin clerk please merge this to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/BrumBrum1? Sir Sputnik -  Done. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 00:44, 1 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
