Evidence submitted by Jéské Couriano
[edit]

Targeted Team Fortress 2 with an edit referencing me ([1]), a reference to this edit summary I made on one of his socks. The next day, he started targeting me in vandal edits; this appears to be a continuance of that pattern. —Jeremy (v^_^v Boribori!) 22:34, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

User self identifies as Blu Aardvark, see this edit. Given Blu Ardvark's initial block reason, creating massive sockfarms, it would be prudent to checkuser this to see if he has any additional socks hiding out, or to block underlying IP addresses. --Jayron32 06:05, 20 November 2010 (UTC) Jayron32 06:05, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have also added Byron Smith 1991 and an IP address. There's something suspicious about the way this IP address and Ham Maritime "found" the now deleted User:Byron Smith 1991. --Jayron32 06:12, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
On second thought, reviewing the edits of Byron Smith and the IP in question, they don't show any behavioral connections to Blu Aardvark's known socks. I wasn't much familiar with Blu Aardvark, having not run accross him before, but now that I have looked over it, it doesn't look likely that those two are him. Ham Maritime, however, is undoubtedly him. --Jayron32 06:33, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Clerk endorsed - Hmm. So there aren't any nonstale socks that I can find here, but Ham Maritime is definitely a duck, so it can probably be used. Based on previous edit behavior, I definitely think there's the chance for sleepers here. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 19:21, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Inconclusive – Everything else is  Stale, and I wasn't able to locate anything from other CheckUsers regarding this person. This will have to be determined on behavioral evidence. –MuZemike 21:20, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The IP was already blocked previously and has not edited since. This is a dynamic ISP and is likely that their IP has changed and so its most likely  Stale. At this time, I am just going to leave as no further action taken. Elockid (Talk) 02:10, 1 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Obvious sock of Blu Aardvark. First edit was to lodge a sock claim against 3 blocked sock accounts seeking to prove the are linkd to Blu Aardvark. WP:DUCKTEST Flat Out (talk) 04:11, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • I object Flat Out's claim. Why should a user be suspicious of being an account's sockpuppet just because their first edit was filing an SPI claim against them? As I mentioned in the other report, I realize that I am indeed a new editor and that it may be suspicious and weird that I'm posting said report, but by no means do I have any connection with Blu Aardvark. Prior to my account registration, I had been looking into SPI reporting as I am interested in finding vandals and stopping their games. I hadn't started editing before and reporting sockpuppets as I needed to gain some experience with how the reporting system works and fully understand how to provide evidence to support my claims. Please don't take my first edit as being destructive to Wikipedia. I by no means mean such harm. If you have any concerns, please ask, but don't use my attempts to counteract vandalism as a malignant action. Thank you. *90Aa (talk) 04:23, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) Why would anyone be suspicious of a new editor (whose username just happens to end in Aa) who goes straight to SPI? The I.P 204.108.65.36 hasn't edited since 2014 so I'd be interested to know how you came across that account Flat Out (talk) 06:39, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I actually never realized my username's letters could raise suspicion, but since our brought that to light, allow me to explain. I intended to register under a different username (i.e. "Vandalfighter," "Vandaldestroyer") in order to show my true interest and dedication to stopping vandalism but both of those names were blacklisted and I was unable to register under those names. I thus chose to use this name, and I chose it randomly without any reason whatsoever, I just typed in the characters of my username randomly without putting any thought into what I was doing. As for the findings of the IP, I had spent several months before looking at these IP pages out of personal interest and in curiosity as to why the IP in this report had repetitively made unblock requests that just got denied and on my latest check which was over a day ago, I found the new unblock request (created by the 3rd IP in the first report) in which "Blu Aardvark" claimed to be responsible for using that IP for vandalism. You are correct that the IP 204.108.65.36 has not edited since 2014, but I took note that the IP has no talk page access and thus can't edit and it's possible that Aardvark was using the 3rd IP in this first report as means of block evasion for malicious purposes. I decided that there should be no more of this idiotic behavior and decided to create an account and bring the facts to light. Please disregard the "Aa" in my username as I wasn't thinking clearly when I created this account; in fact, I can request for a change in username to show I have no connection with Blu Aardvark.
While I'm at it, it's worth noting that if I indeed were a sock by Blu Aardvark, I would have not brought this up at SPI, nor would I be responding in a respectful and cooperative manner. I would simply be vandalizing and hope no one catches me. Also, Blu Aardvark never responded in the way I respond (at least from what I've seen). He was secretive and disrespectful. I hope that helps answer your concerns. *90Aa (talk) 07:45, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
HI EVERYONE! IT'S ME, YOUR FAVORITE SOCKPUPPET, BLU AARDVARK! I WANTED TO CONFIRM THAT MY CURRENT IP ADDRESS, THE ONE *90Aa LISTED ABOVE (108.192.188.210) IS INDEED BEING USED BY ME, BLU AARDVARK! FINALLY, YOU GUYS DID WHAT I WAS ASKING FOR ALL ALONG! MY UNREVEALED SOCKS ARE NOW IN MY LIST OF SUSPECTED SOCKPUPPETS! ALL THAT'S NECESSARY IS FOR AN ADMIN TO MARK THESE SOCKS (INCLUDING MR. COOKIE 715) CONFIRMED AS ME, BLU AARDVARK AND TO GET THEM PROPERLY TAGGED WITH MY IDENTIFIER! IT'S BEEN A PLEASURE VANDALIZING WIKIPEDIA! ALL THOSE ATTEMPTS, AND STILL I'M NOT GONE. HAHAHA! OH WELL, WHAT CAN WE DO. AND DON'T FORGET TO DO THE POOP DANCE! POOP. POOP. YEAH! 108.192.188.210 (talk) 08:18, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@108.192.188.210: Blu Aardvark, if that's really you, you need to stop your idiotic and extremely disruptive behavior. Do us all a favor and leave Wikipedia alone. You've already caused a LOT of damage here and don't want anymore of it. Please leave and do something productive. *90Aa (talk) 08:36, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Not necessarily a sockpuppet of Blu Aardvark, but highly suspicious behavior by immediatelly establishing a SPI case against banned accounts. Activity also shows that he has registered only 23 hours ago[2]. Only edits are here too. May not be sock of Blu Aaardvark, but may be a sock never the less. Dark-World25 (talk) 04:31, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Dark-World25: I understand indeed that my sudden urge to file an SPI claim can be confusing to you and I apologize for giving that impression. My sole intention is to benefit Wikipedia and to any administrator that reads this statement, please know that I will continue to fight vandalism in whatever ways I can, and will report more users for investigation at WP:SPI if I find potential connections between the users. *90Aa (talk) 04:36, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No prior circumstance of any sort of involvement within the wiki, I highl doub that you can draw these conclusions based on simply browsing. Dark-World25 (talk) 04:40, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yes, I know that, I understand your point of view Dark-World25, but I prior to my involvement with this wiki, I had been reading other SPI cases currently listed on WP:SPI to get an understanding of how sockpuppetry works and how editors try to hide their actions. I have also read many articles on this wiki and noticed that many were semi-protected due to vandalism. From seeing that, I've had a desire to help out Wikipedia, and decided I'd get involved since yesterday. Please understand I mean no harm through my actions. *90Aa (talk) 04:47, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
