That explains perhaps why the sock (and it is a sock) threatened to block an IP. Here [1] we see the sock reinstating an edit by Biar122. The same thing here and [2]. I'd block but I've been reverting him, so could someone else? Dougweller (talk) 18:06, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This account has no connection to Jamesgoldbo007-account. I just did one minor edit in the article. I realize that she was not a step-mother when I read your article Ayşe Hatun.

According to the content of the article Ayşe Hatun, this was my decision. If you read the article Ayşe Hatun, she is a real mother of Selim I, not an adoptive or step mother. This is so in your List of the mothers of the Ottoman Sultans article as well. Otherwise, the content of the article Ayşe Hatun needs to be modified.

Thanks

Biar has a history of persistent disruption & socking. As soon as he was indefinitely banned 16 (9 Aug.), he didn't lose the opportunity to create a new account & started socking again, just a few hours latter the same day: 17. The behavioural evidence appears striking:

 • Both accounts display persistent obsession in adding the Albanian origin in biographies. Especially, the addition of same text, same references & even same edit summaries in the same biographies leaves no doubt that he is the same person:
 • In similar fashion both account are interested to add the supposed Albanian origin in a wide variety of biographies, by using the same poor citation style (giving only a url, usually from googlebooks, without any further information): BIAR: 232425 FIVA: 2627
 • Both accounts use the same edit summaries in most of their edits (most probably editing with cellphone) BIAR: 28, FIVA: 29
 • Same interest in adding people in the infobox in Albanians in Turkey: BIAR: 30, FIVA: 31 Alexikoua (talk) 19:12, 15 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Similar MO to previous: trying to prove Albanian origin using "references" to Google books without preview. Diffs e.g. Luka Modrić, Nicolas Anelka, edit-warring at Sergio Ramos including reference to Panajot Pano who came up in one of the earlier SPIs. Similar style of username. Quacking very loudly. Their first edit was to attribute Albanian origin to the footballer Niklas Süle, citing a bare link to books.google.al. The sort of edit that numerous previous socks have made. They then reappeared on a mission to assign Albanian ethnicity to the footballer Zlatan Ibrahimović, based on a line in a blog on the TIME magazine website and claims of multiple Albanian sources; the only one produced says Mr Ibrahimović knows a few words of the language... See recent history of Ibrahimović page, "discussion" at WT:WikiProject Football#Zlatan Ibrahimović albanian?. They also edited Muhammad Ali of Egypt to remove sources suggesting Turkish rather than Albanian origin, as Biar122 had before, and made the same grammatical mistake "speaked" in their edit summary as previously noted with Fiva16 and Arb12345. It's a long time since the last report, so I'm guessing checkuser wouldn't have anything to work on, but it looks like a duck to me. Struway2 (talk) 09:23, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Duck. Both editors adding Albanian or Arbereshe origin to footballers. Pilapeil78 editing Sergio Ramos, a longtime target, using two sets of sources. The second pair are the same as used by previous sock Baby12359. The first pair don't point to any accessible target, and are formatted similarly to that used by Stupidness2 at Marcos Rojo. Usual modus operandi. Adding Albanian descent to articles, "sourced" to targetless links. Tyuu20 is absolutely typical, e.g. 1, 2. Jinny43 is a development: interspersing gossip-column stuff with the characteristic Albanian descent "sourced" to a sfn-formatted targetless link, here, and removing Tyuu20's edit at Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with edit summary "unreliable source" before reinstating it soon afterwards claiming "After a check the source seem reliable". Strapazzoni0: Added Albanian origin to footballer Mateo Kovačić, citing page in Croatian that doesn't mention Kovacic having Albanian origin and two copies of the picture of Ibrahimovic, Kovacic and somebody else making an eagle sign with their hands; one of the links is dead, so maybe they were just copied from a previous sock's edits. Then repeatedly added a suggestion that the footballer Héctor Bellerín had an Arbereshe surname, "sourced" to a Google Books link to an Albanian book with no pageview.

Usuiko: Many edits, including: tweaking the wording of Strapazzoni0's edits at Héctor Bellerín; at Zlatan Ibrahimovic, pushing the inclusion of Albanian origin citing the same TIME magazine blog as did previous sock Jjapanesitalianbritish (see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Biar122/Archive#22 September 2015); at footballer Marko Arnautović, adding Albanian origin sourced to 5 separate sources for the same piece, which speculates as to whether 5 footballers have Albanian connections or not: its evidence for Arnautovic is that Arnauti means Albanian. etc etc

Requesting checkuser for sleepers. Struway2 (talk) 16:41, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have seen the case with Panagiotis Kone because he used to claim that he was Greek in Greece and Albanian here in Albania even though I didn't mention him at all. I use two digits because sometimes when i use four it comes two usernames. I also reverted Ibra's page not because of Biar but because it has a reliable source while you deleted the content only because you think so.Tugioy45 (talk) 14:25, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Are the police required to tell you if they're investigating you? Telling someone they're under investigation is likely to send them into hiding, something that these sockpuppets are pass masters at, so it's better not to inform them until the evidence has been gathered. – PeeJay 13:34, 26 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

 • information Administrator note The behavioral evidence is compelling, and on that basis, I have blocked Ksamil8 indefinitely and the IP for 31 hours. There are subtle differences in the behavior of this account: namely, the edits indicate that the user is unfamiliar with how to use <ref> tags for references, but the prior sockpuppet accounts do demonstrate knowledge of how to add proper references. On the other hand, it's been a while since the last sockpuppet was identified – perhaps they simply forgot. In any case, the persistent addition of pro-Albanian material to a football-related article using Mobilefrontend is idiosyncratic enough for me to block on the basis of sock puppetry.
