I am submitting a Checkuser request. The accounts were created in the period of July to August 2016, and display similar editing patterns, and has made a series of unconstructive edits and article creations in the subject of genocide, and in many cases, create OR changes and redirects. For instance, Accopulocrat created Polish Genocide and Chinese Genocide, which are both deleted for WP:OR, while redirecting Guatemalan Civil War to Guatemalan Civil War & Genocide of Mayans. Hooshcleff created a series of redirects such as List of politicides by death toll, List of War crimes by death toll, List of atrocities by death toll, List of dictators by death toll, List of democides by death toll, List of Forced Labor systems by death toll to List of wars and anthropogenic disasters by death toll. Zetsubuobiry created the redirect Congo holocaust to Congo Free State. A quick look at recent history of List of wars and anthropogenic disasters by death toll and Genocides in history shows that the accounts are very active and made a series of high volume changes in a short time. Likely block evasion: similar edits to same article by nearly identical IP address to the one blocked in the original SPI. [1] [2] [3]. Wikimedes (talk) 03:19, 17 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Newly created account editing the same articles and types of articles, and calling all mass killings "holocausts".[4] [5]. Added "Worst event" section [6] similar to "10 Deadliest Man Made Events (Listed bellow)" [7].
This may not be the place to suggest it, but perhaps a mass rollback of this sock's edits would help discourage the sock master from creating new accounts to avoid a block? Wikimedes (talk) 20:54, 26 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Urchu is a SPA with a focus on genocides and massacres. After his block for a "large-scale campaign of massacre-related page moves" for which he made no attempt at discussion [8], he started to use socks and received a CU block by Jezebel's Ponyo, [9]. A comparison of the edit patterns of Vulokoko and Urchu [10], [11] indicates that Vulokoko is a duck. JimRenge (talk) 13:33, 27 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I suspect Urchu is a sock of Accopulocrat: SPI Accopulocrat. JimRenge (talk) 10:41, 29 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Given the overlap and their redirect creations (compare, for example, to User:84man's redirects), it certainly seems to be Accopulocrat. [12] [13] [14] [15] Sro23 (talk) 10:05, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

And we're back again. Another brand-new account that dives into genocide issues, and hits the old targets List of genocides by death toll, Anfal genocide, Aardakh, and List of wars and anthropogenic disasters by death toll (geez...)

Same habit of creating redirects and conducting moves. Hargeisa Holocaust is yet another redirect to Isaaq genocide, just as Uloq (talk · contribs · count) created redirects Somalian genocide and Genocide in Somalia. Just as Lololololono (talk · contribs · count) moved Ethnic cleansing of Hazaras (1888-93) to Massacre and displacement of Hazaras in 1888 to 93, the alleged sock moved it again to 1888-1893 Uprisings of Hazaras. And for the pièce de résistance, we have the new account making a similar edit on List of genocides by death toll as a previous sock, with a very similar edit summary. I blocked this user per WP:DUCK. They are only interested in massacres/genocides, and their main activity is to call everything a genocide, moving articles against consensus and adding walls of text to these articles (see for example [16], [17], [18] (disruptive moves), [19] (adding a big chunk of text). Essentially, all contributions of this user are of this type. Whereas the connection seems obvious to me, we may want to check for other users, on previous occasions multiple accounts have been found.--Ymblanter (talk) 09:19, 26 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Both accounts have a similar focus (read=WP:SPA) on genocide articles (interaction), similar edit summaries (Accop., ccopulocrat moved page Red Terror (Ethiopia) to Qey Shibir: I think the more unique name should take precedence over the more vague and generic red terror (ethiopia) name., and donus ‎ Poundofdonuts moved page Genocides in central Africa to Genocides in post-colonial Africa: most of these genocide weren't even in central africa, this is basically what the article is trying to refer to), and a similar aversion to communicating on talk pages (donuts, [20] and Accop., [21]. ——SerialNumber54129 14:02, 13 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment by  — Amakuru (talk) 16:13, 13 May 2019 (UTC) - I was planning to file an SPI of this nature as well, as the editing pattern looks very similar. Here are some diffs showing pages moved without discussion that had already been previously moved by confirmed sockpuppets of Accopulocrat:[reply]

I am 100% certain this is another sock puppet of the Sock master, they may try to use this one since the other sock puppet was recently blocked. this account followed the same carbon copy editing as the sock master and the two confirmed socks. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?limit=50&title=Special%3AContributions&contribs=user&target=Accopulocrat&namespace=&tagfilter=&start=&end= https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?limit=50&title=Special%3AContributions&contribs=user&target=Poundofdonuts&namespace=&tagfilter=&start=&end=

An experienced user C.J. Griffin. Brought up concerns about Random copy-pasting without a edit summary.https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Mass_killings_under_communist_regimes&action=history After doing some research it seems like, they are doing mass copy pastes from different Ip address in the same range. The two older SPAs (Hahilasbuya and ColdFocus) have recent single edits (here and here) to add Uyghur genocide to List of genocides by death toll without references. The newest SPA (NOAA42) asked for re-insertion of the same entry (while casting aspersions) here after the page was EC-protected.

There may also be other socks or an older sockpuppeteer, as several IPs and another editor (BazookaIce) also added/edited the entry. In particular, the IP (2601:601:1501:1890:25C9:C19A:3BD4:BF2 (talk · contribs · WHOIS)) that first added the entry here was CU blocked as a sock of Accopulocrat (SPI case). There are also several other SPAs appearing at List of genocides by death toll and Talk:List of genocides by death toll in general. — MarkH21talk 21:39, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In fact, could a clerk move this to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Accopulocrat? The more I look at the cases there, the more it seems that these are related. — MarkH21talk 21:51, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
There may be an external explanation for some of the new disruptive behavior and SPAs: Reddit thread. — MarkH21talk 03:19, 29 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Clerk note: I suspect that this is one of those cases where a bunch of people saw the Reddit thread (or something similar) and showed up here rather than these being Accopulocrat socks. Since these accounts are all throwaways and the page has been protected, I'm not going to bother blocking. MarkH21, feel free to drop me a note if they move on to being disruptive on a different page, I can semi-protect as needed. GeneralNotability (talk) 01:03, 3 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Vanisherman removed a redirect to create an article for the Taíno genocide on November 5th 2023. This article was previously created by Morrister a confirmed sock account of theirs back in 2018. The article was deleted both times and has since been recreated by an unrelated user and Vanisherman has edited it since. It's quite obvious when looking at the revision history of the page. It's an necessary article and another unrelated editor recreated it this time but Vanisherman is clearly a operated by the same individual as Morrister. Their other contributions show clear similarities to Morrister and other confirmed sock accounts. They all have singular focus on genocides, atrocities, especially Holodmor. 2A00:23C6:ABBF:6201:C4CC:F11:3CB8:D258 (talk) 06:46, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
