Manifesta

reasoning -Sorenonilsson (talk) 19:43, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Maybe this is a mistake but at least for two years I have seen the encyclopaedia article on 'Manifesta' which is an extremely important art biennale of international significance.

Here is the archive: http://web.archive.org/web/*/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manifesta

Also you can see how important is Manifesta: http://www.google.com/#hl=en&expIds=17259,17291,26696,27552,27739&ds=n&sugexp=ldymls&xhr=t&q=manifesta+biennale&cp=18&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=nw&fp=ed958012ddba4d59

Strangely I can read the same article: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:GC6RpYN7ATwJ:en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manifesta+manifesta+8&cd=7&hl=en&ct=clnk

The article is factual and neutral and of course for many years we can read it.

Just this year the article is out? It is very strange. The article is deleted because it is 'advertising'? This is very strange. It is maybe like deleting article on Olympics or maybe Bundestag if factual entries are made [anybody] .

It looks very bad. Maybe it is a mistake? I hope so.

Sorenonilsson (talk) 19:43, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

If this is a mistake then it should be restored to the last accepted version - but there is also this existing Manifesta which Thierry Geoffroy is a prominent artist at - I want to add his link to the 8th version of Manifesta. According to 'Archive.org' the Wikipedia article is at least 4 years old so the deletion must be a mistake. The content is completely normal. Neutral point of view Sorenonilsson (talk) 19:49, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Now it is a little more clear. It must be a mistake. There are many articles withing Wikipedia which refer to Manifesta: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3ASearch&redirs=0&search=manifesta+&fulltext=Search&ns0=1 Sorenonilsson (talk) 19:53, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

  • I left a note with the deleting admin. Hopefully they will drop by and leave a comment. Protonk (talk) 20:17, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

FASD/FADC

Contrary to what the administrator who deleted the page said, there can be a revision to the page by a 5 year member of the club to explain its purpose; thereby justifying its use as a Wikipedia page. The person who originally created the page is no longer a member of Fredericksburg Area Speech and Debate (FASD) club, whereas I still am. I noticed that the page was gone when I was going to edit it for the year to give the new debate resolution, debate coach, speech information, etc. I would be greatly obliged if this page can be undeleted because it is a real organization that teaches students about how to debate and speak in public. Thank you for your time. -Snatme (talk) 20:19, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

The Triune Hypothesis, Triunism

reasoning -Eickman (talk) 19:48, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

reasoning -Eickman (talk) 19:48, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

Jimfbleak deleted my pages, "The Triune Hypothesis" and "Triunism."

He deleted my book page at first because the control bot kept reporting that I was plagerizing information from another site, but the site it was referencing was my sandbox. He later admitted, but then proceeded to find other reasons to delete my work, without cause.

He then changed his story, saying that my page was "advertizing."

Here is your definition of advertizing...

"Advertising or other spam WITHOUT RELAVENT CONTENT (but not an article about an advertising-related subject)"

I fully explained the information in my book by supplying a synopsis and list of topics discussed therein.

Moreover, I followed the standard for every other book page I found on Wikipedia--a synopsis, and a link to a publisher website.

After this, Jimfbleak made blatant attacks on the integrity of my work, writing...

I've only just twigged that this isn't a proper book, but a self-published vanity project, so no real chance of establishing notability, and fails also under WP:OR. Thanks Jimfbleak - talk to me? 17:34, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

What an asshole. Amazon sold three times as many Kindle books as print book in that last quarter of this year, but the old man presumes to judge that non-tradition published works (which are now the NORM, not the exception) have "no real chance of establishing notability."

Jimfbleak then proceeded to delete my page on Triunism, in which I detailed the principles involved, including numerous citations to other pages on Widipedia which deal with the very historical facts I discuss.

(Seems Jimfbleak may have a thing against Christians, with a little "God" syndrome of his own to boot).

If you check the logs of Jimfbleak, he has a long history of being delete happy, and doens't give anyone a chance to substantiate or improve their works before he cans them. He seems to have a personal vendetta against contributors whose contributions he doesn't like for reasons unknown, destroys first, and then makes up his rationale later.

H.E. Eickleberry, Jr.

  •  Not done. You were shamelessly trying to promote your own self-published "book" without even pretending to try to claim that it was in any way notable. Not every book is notable enough for an encyclopedia article; and even notable books need actual articles about them, not blatant promotional material. --Orange Mike | Talk 20:11, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

You people are dinosaurs.

1) In short order, ALL books are going to be "self-published books." I was just going over the blog of a mid-list author who has written over a dozen books, and he isn't writing for print anymore.

2) I'm not "shamelessly promoting [my] own self-published book." I'm "shamelessly promoting an important concept" that is documented in a book, just like every important concept in history.

3) You people are going to go the way of Funk & Wagnall's if you keep operating behind the curve instead of in front of it. Newspapers are on the verge of going extinct. Why? Because they report the news a day after everyone has already heard it on 24-hour news or on the internet. Sooner or later, someone will come up with something better than Wikipedia that reports encyclopedic information when it happens, not after it happens, and you'll be about as relavent as Atari or WordPerfect. You should be the first source for encyclopedic information, not the last.

But you go ahead and pick your own poison--it'll all come out as it comes out.

H.E. Eickleberry, Jr.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Eickman (talkcontribs) Eickman (talkcontribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic.

1. Publishers can serve a number of vital functions, including screening out people who cannot spell "relevant" or "advertising".
2. If the subject is important, why does nobody know about it but you, o self-annointed discoverer and sole possessor of The Truth?
3. We never claimed to be reporters of the news; that's not what we do. Newspapers are filled with ephemeral trivia that never will be of importance, and reporters are painfully aware of that. Our function here is to separate the wheat from the chaff, and share the wheat with others. That's what encyclopedias do. If you want 24-hour ephemera, there are tens of thousands of websites offering what they do. Meanwhile, we will continue doing what we do.
4. Read our guidelines about original research, self-aggrandisement, and civility. You will be surprised. --Orange Mike | Talk 22:00, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

speedy deleted on the grounds of being article about company but in reality article about products manufactured by that company -Catcher55 (talk) 07:57, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

Not done The article was posted under the company name and led with information on the company so the distinction you are drawing to claim this was in invalid A7 because it was really about a product does not wash. We can only go by what the article says, not your intent. In any event, even if this was the right place to request undeletion of an article that was deleted under CSD A7 (which it's not; this page is only for articles deleted uncontroversially, such as through proposed deletion or under CSD G6) the article read as promotional, contained no third party reliable sources, and most importantly, was a blatant copyright violation, having lifted text directly from here if not from other places.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 08:11, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

Security and Development

this is an important and separate field of study stressing a non-dual concept, while the wording may still need work, it is relevant and I request further time and feedback to bring this article up to the par of the wiki community. The concept/paradigm/field is non-dual and perhaps that is what needs to be stressed more. Please be fair to those who are not wiki professionals and facilitate our bringing new relevant material in to the fold through guidance rather than deletion. thank you for your time -G323 (talk) 16:55, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

This image would be useful for the article Commissioners of Northwest Territories.

I have reason to doubt the image is non-free as a previous upload by the user, File:Flag of the Commisioner of Yukon.svg, incorrectly attributed copyright to FOTW when the artwork used was actually PD. I will review the image and if it is free, I will tag accordingly. Jussle

Hi. in June I created a page called Jussle which was nominated for speedy deletion due to the way it was written. I have re-written the article and have included it with this message for review. I have fashioned the article similarly to Skate 3 and Cozi articles already on this site. Thanks for your consideration.

Draft article

Jussle is the name of a semantics based email to calendar software application which works with any email system and any electronic calendar system. This patent-pending SaaS (software as a service) was launched in November 2009 and the company is based in Silicon Valley, California.

Jussle software frees a user from having to retype, copy and paste schedule information received in an email, including attachments, into a calendar. Jussle also provides a premium service which allows a user to paste a website URL into email and have the schedule on the website show up on the user’s calendar. The result is game, social and cultural schedules existing on a website show up automatically on a user’s calendar with simply an email.

Jussle leverages cloud-based technology in Web 2.0

Not done As you seem to refer to MUMBAR, this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles concerning groups of people. Articles concerning people will be deleted on sight if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject. --Tikiwont (talk) 13:33, 22 November 2010 (UTC)

Ketsugo jujutsu

I believe this article was deleted because the editors thought it specific to a single Jujutsu dojo, and therefore not noteworthy enough for an encyclopedia topic. However, Ketsugo jujutsu is practiced by many different dojo around the world, and has been for many years. As such, I believe that when someone looks through the wikipidia for Ketsugo jujutsu, they should be educated to the fact that it is not just a single bunch of guys that practice jujutsu, but actually an entire sub-set of jujutsu (albeit, developed within the last 60 years) that attempts to combine jujutsu with various other martial arts (e.g., Judo, Aikido, Kung Fu) for the purposes of self-defense. Unfortunately, when someone asks about the discipline, I must either tell them orally, or direct them to a Russian site that happens to have the data that was deleted from wikipedia. It would sadden me very much if the history of this particular kind of jujutsu was lost because there aren't millions of us around the world practicing the art today (thereby making it a more highly visited wikipedia page). -Cyberbisson (talk) 18:04, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

Is the problem that - I am listed as a producer in parenthesis and not engineer?

I wish to re-introduce myself into the world of Wiki.

This 2010 UK film is now written about quite extensively in several print magazines, including Variety and Screen Daily. -ᴳᴿᴲᴳᴼᴿᴵᴷᶤᶯᵈᶸᶩᶢᵉ 19:11, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

I wanted to participate in the review; however was out of town-- all of the information in the article can be substantiated and the company, Mike the Pike Productions, has been featured in 'Variety', 'Hollywood Reporter', on George R.R. Martin's blog, blogged by the author himself, etc.- I would like to get this considered for undeletion as, I simply need instructions as to how to source as all sources can be provided and I want to be respectful of Wikipedia's guidelines and standards. -Filmphile (talk) 22:21, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

Landcert

I created the name "LandCert" which is a registered trademark (Reg.No. 3,770,170) to establish an new ontology for evaluating land. --MSH1864 (talk) 02:52, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

Not done The most recently deleted version consisted solely of "Landcert is a process of evaluating property utilizing mapping and municipal research." I'd suggest you spend some time carefully reading WP:FIRST, then make a version at a subpage of your userpage, such as at User:MSH1864/Landcert. That will give you more, but not unlimited, time to get it ready for article space. HTH --Fabrictramp | talk to me 03:34, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

Not done - As announced prominently at the top of the page, this process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially and has no applicability to articles deleted after any deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tony Mars, it cannot be undeleted through this process. Nevertheless, if you believe that the consensus found at the discussion was in error, or that significant new information has come to light since the deletion, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Bigtimepeace (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review.--Tikiwont (talk) 10:10, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

La Paz

Some information about the city has recently been improperly deleted and altered. This site is a serious source of informaton and not of mockery. The entry "San Francisco Church is an ancient church where San Francisco is buried" is totally absurd. Saint Francis (San Francisco) is obviously not buried in La Paz,Bolivia The person who wrote that, deleted a t the same time some real facts. Can you undo the changes and leave the article as it was about a month ago? -69.171.176.178 (talk) 13:34, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

I've corrected the passage. Nevertheless it is longer around than you think and if you feel other content needs to be changed, you best do it yourself, maybe checking the page history once more. Hannu Rajaniemi

This article about a science fiction author was apparently deleted because prior to the September 2010 publication of his first novel The Quantum Thief his notability was uncertain. Now that the book has been published, creating something of a buzz[3], I think the article, a version of which is available here[4], should be restored. -Victor Chmara (talk) 18:14, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

  •  Done, in a manner of speaking. As a contested proposed deletion, the article can be immediately restored upon request. Rather than having me undelete it, you should use User:Abc10/Hannu_Rajaniemi. Leave a note at User_talk:Abc10 asking them to move it back to articlespace, if they don't respond in a few days you can move if back yourself. Assuming you are talking about Caitlin Rose: she might actually be notable. Please create a new, clean article that doesn't read like a press release: free of peacock words like "megastar", contains no blather about "represents the future of country music", and contains references to actual articles in actual reliable sources. The version that was deleted was clearly written by somebody in an advertising-related profession. Maybe we can get an article created before those cigarettes kill her. --Orange Mike | Talk 16:19, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

Pragmatic Buddhism

The current search for Pragmatic Buddhism leads to the Center of Pragmatic Buddhism -Adartsug (talk) 12:42, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

I do not have a clue on why the page was deleted. The article had contributions from many people.

It was not deleted. The title, along with its entire editing history was moved to the new title (the prior title is now a redirect). What may have confused you is that, as can be seen in that edit history, the page was vastly shortened at about the same time, on the stated basis: "starting to fix the many problems with this article, which is arguably OR/Synthesis in its entirety" ("OR" is an abbreviation used here for original research; see Wikipedia:No original research).--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 13:26, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

I, Adartsug, originally wrote the item on Pragmatic Buddhism. I do not belong to any school or branch of Religious Buddhism; I have never been in a Buddhist temple or pagoda. I consider that there is a strong stream today toward Pragmatic Buddhism (or secular, or non-religious, or even agnostic) and Wikipedia should have an article on that trend. You should have not removed the whole entry but I agree that the self-promoting links should not be there.

I have no connection with either the Center of Pragmatic Buddhism or the Unfettered Mind organization. They included their links by their own initiative; I added the section “Organizations” to make room for the first group.

Buddhism is referred as pragmatic by scholars and writers¬ such as Edward Conze, Richard P. Hayes and Stephen Batchelor, and atheistic or agnostic by André Comte-Sponville. As a notion, Pragmatic Buddhism is as “cloudy” as agnosticism or pragmatism; the schools on these “philosophies” appeared much later than the words.

Lateral to the central issue and even stranger than your deletion of the article in question is the book I just found in Amazon.com PRAGMATIC BUDDHISM, the summary of which I copy next: “High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Pragmatic Buddhism is a subset of the Buddhist doctrine which leaves aside metaphysical beliefs and rituals of any kind and advocates the continuous practice of the Buddha's Teachings (Dhamma in Pali, Dharma in Sanskrit) with the primary purpose of eliminating suffering and bringing about inner peace and harmony. In the broadest sense of the word, Buddhism is a religion and a philosophical system originally proposed by Siddhattha Gotama (in Pali; Siddhartha Gautama in Sanskrit), the Buddha, in northeastern India in the sixth century B.C. As a religion, the fourth largest in the world, it has three main schools (Theravada, Mahayana, Vajrayana) and dozens of derivate branches. For the strong emphasis it places in introspection and mind states, numerous scholars also consider Buddhism a system of psychology rather than (or in addition to) a religious creed or a school of philosophy.” Are people actually taken material from Wikipedia to produce books? Adartsug, November 30, 2010

There are several issues here. First, there is no plural 'you'. As you created the artcile on one hand it was unilaterally first moved and then converted by one user, Sylvain1972 (talk · contribs), as also mentioned here.[5] Second, it is still there in the history! If you disagree, you can simply undo the title move and restore the original content to allow for a wider discussion of its merits. That would also be the place to discuss the third issue regarding the source listed at amazon. (It seems to me they pasted a generic description.) If necessary, I could help you with the technicalities. Let me know here or on my talk page. --Tikiwont (talk) 16:43, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

It was originally deemed to be self-promoting, but I changed it to remove what I thought to be offending material. -PadovaniML (talk) 21:20, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

Musulin, Stella von

Nowhere on the internet contains the information I have submitted on the writer Stella von Musulin. Yet it has been unfairly deleted. Here friendship with W H Auden would be enough to include her under 'noteable' but added to this is her important publications, her role in MI6 etc, yet it was seen fit to delete this article. This is utterly beyond all reasonable editing criteria and without justification. I request that the article be reinstated in the interests of scholarship. -Natsyw (talk) 10:44, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

  •  Not done Well, I searched for various versions of the article, and have yet to find anything. That said, "a friendship with" does not allow someone to inherit notability. Although we don't require all references to be available on the internet, there must be some valid reliable sources that you can help point us to - with millions of editors, someone must have access to a printed copy. We also don't do things "in the interest of scholarship" - this is an encylopedia of knowledge, not a compendium of scholarship. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 11:44, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Bwilkins, if you'd checked his deleted contributions you'd have seen http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Undelete/MUSULIN,_STELLA_von (also see User:Natsyw). I would restore it, but for Coren Searchbot flagging a potential copyvio before speedy deletion (though I can't confirm this flagging). I don't think that A7 applied, as being a biographer of Auden and a published author on Austria is a "credible claim of importance" (notability is another question entirely). A new, sourced and demonstratively non-plagiarised bio on Stella Musulin should not be speedily deletable, but I do doubt that she's notable from what I could find. Fences&Windows 22:30, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
I have tried to help this user out, as they bungled some text into one of my watched articles. Euan McIver

I have been notified that this page, created by a Scottish Variety Club Member, has been deleted - one reason being - it seemed I only appeared in amateur productions - more than ten years with a national star (Stanley Baxter)and two national industry awards from the USA as listed, should convey the message that this is not the case, and while I undergo further treatment for the illness also mentioned in the article I am concentrating on assisting community theatre projects. Basware

Hi, my companies Wikipedia page has been deleted by Airplaneman. A couple of times we have had our site edited with our competitor inserting their own company names into our page. I have always considered Wikipedia to be impartial and so I do not believe this is the readers interest. We do not use Wikipedia for promoting our business but rather as a point of reference. We are Basware, this is what we do. Anything beyond that as far as I am concerned is Marketing talk and not of interest to Wikipedia readers nor myself. Despite taking this approach I am still surprised that our pages are being marked as advertising. We are more than willing to rewrite content to make it useful to readers but it seems to be slowly eroded with and tampered by competitors. I hope that we can be undeleted and am happy to receive any comments or recommendations that you might have. Thanks and regards -Zmte055 (talk) 14:06, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

The problem is that people like you are editing the article, removing information (such as who you compete against) in order to keep the article the way you want it. As a result, the article was so promotional (full of peacock words like "leading" and laden with promotional fluff) that it was deleted as an advertisement. Such is the consequence of conflict of interest editing. --Orange Mike | Talk 14:11, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Hi, an article that i created AGN International was deleted in October by Transporterman under section A7, I did put the 'hangon' quote on top of the page so that we can amend and change details so that the article no longer fell under A7 any longer.
