October 13[edit]

This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on October 13, 2023.

Tony Incenzo[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. ✗plicit 23:46, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in article or anywhere on Wikipedia, no longer works for Talksport, has worked in other places before and after. Don't think this redirect is beneficial. Skarmory (talk ‱ contribs) 23:48, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - the redirect was the outcome of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tony Incenzo from 2009. As note by the nominator, the name is no longer even mentioned in the article and the history has nothing of use for creating an article if one were inclined to attempt it. -- Whpq (talk) 00:25, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom --Lenticel (talk) 01:10, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. T%he redirect is not beneficial as this person is not currently connected to talksport Theejit (talk) 20:13, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

8. If the redirect is a novel or very obscure synonym for an article name that is not mentioned in the target, it is unlikely to be useful. (3 of 4) MicrobiologyMarcus (petri dish‱cultures) 19:01, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

common or easy to make typo can be allowed as a redirect as long as it is not very unlikely etc. Iljhgtn (talk) 19:39, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. No more or less likely than any other transposition of letters, and no evidence that it's particularly common. Thryduulf (talk) 00:06, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong keep: plausible misspelling; harmless. Edward-Woodrow ‱ talk 00:47, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Given that the correctly spelled version Dream hoarders doesn't even exist, this redirect has no utility. Mdewman6 (talk) 20:31, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak keep a single character transposition in the all-lower-case form of the term, so a likely form of typo -- 67.70.25.175 (talk) 00:18, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, we don't have Haord for Hoard, Haorder for Hoarder, etc. Hoard is not prone to typos, much less vowel transpositions, and there's zero need to have r from typos from similar titles either. Utopes (talk / cont) 03:26, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

C100H202[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was No consensus * Pppery * it has begun... 00:19, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This... feels pretty excessive. None of the other 99 straight-chain alkanes with less atoms are redirects to this title. Utopes (talk / cont) 07:04, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. My first reaction to the nomination is "So?". Redirects are WP:CHEAP and WP:OTHERSTUFF existing or not existing is not a reason to keep or delete. In the absence of any identified harm or confusion caused by this specific redirect I'm not seeing any benefit from deletion. Thryduulf (talk) 08:35, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
(Off-topic-ish) but I started to write a response but then I spent half of it going on an analogy about counting beetles, so I think this is the signal for me to sleep and rewrite it tomorrow or something. 😅) Utopes (talk / cont) 09:48, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak delete: C100H202 is also listed at List of compounds with carbon numbers 50+. It's not clear to me that either list is particularly useful for someone searching for that specific compound, but neither seems like the obviously correct target to me so we may as well give readers access to both. Not that anyone is searching for it; it's only had three pageviews in the past 60 days, and seventeen in its entire history. Caeciliusinhorto-public (talk) 09:22, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete to remove interference to Search. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 09:26, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak keep. The current target is correct; it matches the redirect target of hectane, the name of the straight-chain isomer. Anyone searching the formula will learn how many isomers exist and the name of the straight-chain isomer, which is the most enwiki has to offer currently. The only unique content at the less specific List of compounds with carbon numbers 50+ is the CAS number of hectane, which is only of interest to those who already know other ways to find this. All that said, given how little content we have about compounds with this formula, I am not strongly opposed to deletion either. Mdewman6 (talk) 16:47, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
FYI the reason this exists is that hectane was originally a stub, and this redirected there. Many of the analogous molecular formulae less than C60 target higher alkane, with those lower than ~C30 usually having their own articles. Mdewman6 (talk) 16:51, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep due to information on this being listed at the target. As for the WP:OTHERSTUFFDOESNTEXIST argument, I have no issue with the other redirects being created. -- Tavix (talk) 21:11, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete mentioned at multiple targets without substantial coverage at either. Clear for search and redlink. - Darker Dreams (talk) 01:43, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Howard Stratton Davis[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 04:10, 21 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Is not named Howard, nor is there any reference to a person named Howard. It appears that the article was at an incorrect name. Nevertheless, it is a confusing redirect.

To note: the matter of whether the name is "Harold" or "Howard" was discussed at the target talk page on Talk:Harold Stratton Davis. The point was raised that all journalistic evidence indicated the name was "Harold", while the only mentions of "Howard" were via Wikipedia mirrors, and not sufficiently backed anywhere else. Utopes (talk / cont) 04:07, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment Yes, but the article was at that title for nearly 6 years. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 12:11, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep I was all onboard with deleting this then it was pointed out the article was at that title for 6 years. That was a little jarring for BLP, so I was curious and found it has only been moved to the correct name for less than 3 months. Perhaps it will eventually be appropriate to delete this redirect; I don't think that time is right now. - Darker Dreams (talk) 03:44, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. (non-admin closure) Edward-Woodrow ‱ talk 12:50, 21 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

excessive redirect, shows have no mention for Dangerverse. Magical Golden Whip (talk) 22:06, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak delete One could make an argument for keeping this following the same reasoning as the above discussion, but "Dangerverse" isn't even mentioned at the target so it seems more likely to be confusing. * Pppery * it has begun... 22:18, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
"Dangerverse" is mentioned in one of the parent articles, Henry Danger#Spinoffs. Skynxnex (talk) 01:41, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep redirect is not excessive or implausible. Happily888 (talk) 08:56, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete: Agree with the OP. There was no need to create this and the other redirects in the first place. The original page is fine, and the redirects are useless and a waste of site resources. Furthermore, a mass creation of redirects like this is something that required discussion prior to creating them. And, honestly, regardless of what the end result is here, the creator's vote should not be counted, as they are obviously biased, though I realize there's not actually anything forbidding that. Amaury ‱ 08:30, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. No reason to delete. Henry Danger#Spinoffs: Henry Danger had several spinoffs, commonly referred to collectively as the "Dangerverse" Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 12:39, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. No reason to delete. - Darker Dreams (talk) 02:35, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. Hey man im josh (talk) 19:07, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in the target or, seemingly, in any other article. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 17:50, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep; it's listed in the route map. Many flag stop articles were redirected to the parent article about the service. I don't object in principle to changing the target for Tidal station, but doing so without updating the inbound links is a problem. Mackensen (talk) 18:21, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Mackensen; this is one of the stations on this train line and an article existed at Tidal station for several years before being WP:BLARed and its target changed. InterstellarGamer12321 (talk | contribs) 11:18, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Jericho Gardens, New York[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was speedy keep. Withdrawn. Mention added. (non-admin closure) TartarTorte 19:13, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned at the target article. I cannot seem to find much information about it in a WP:BEFORE. There seems to be a civic association according to this news report, but there is no information included on that in the target article and I can't find a great way to add that information, nor an alternate target, so I think for the time being at least, this should be deleted with no prejudice to recreation if information can be added to the article about Jericho Gardens. TartarTorte 17:29, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Comment - I think that is an amicable resolution; I can add information for the Jericho Gardens section of Jericho to the Jericho, NY article (obviously with sources). Cheers, AITFFan1 (talk) 18:23, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@AITFFan1, that would be great! If you add that (and assuming no one argues for delete), then I'll just withdraw as speedy keep. Thanks! TartarTorte 18:35, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@TartarTorte, sounds like a plan! AITFFan1 (talk) 18:39, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@TartarTorte, I just finished incorporating some information on Jericho Gardens into the Jericho, NY article. I do not know why I had never previously included any information on it; thank you very much for pointing that out!

The result of the discussion was keep. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:40, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unnecessary redirect. The page Buenos Aires Zoo now goes directly to Buenos Aires Eco-Park. Bgsu98 (Talk) 03:31, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep per {{R from move}}. This was the article title from March 2019 until 3 minutes before this nomination. Thryduulf (talk) 10:32, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as {{R from move}}; there was an article at this title for a long period of time. InterstellarGamer12321 (talk | contribs) 11:16, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have fixed all articles which included the (formerly Zoo) name so that redirect is no longer used anywhere in the encyclopedia. Bgsu98 (Talk) 00:27, 18 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Whatlinkshere shows only links from current revisions of pages on en.wp, these are only a subset of all the links to the page. Given the length of time the article was at this title it is very likely that there will be links from external websites, bookmarks, etc (which may or may not get updated) and possibly off-line resources that will never be updated. Thryduulf (talk) 11:41, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as a plausible redirect, and since the article remained at this title for more than four years. CycloneYoris talk! 09:43, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
