Not mentioned anywhere in the article. Partofthemachine (talk) 23:12, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment The revision where the targeted section was removed is really odd. It was an IP and the edit summary stated "fixed typo." The section was reliably sourced with both national and local coverage. Perhaps the best solution is to add it back? I'm not seeing a good reason why it was removed in the first place. - Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 00:13, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Presidentman. I've restored the targeted section to the article. feminist (talk) 14:56, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

L. ferox[edit]

The redirect is intended as an abbreviation for the binomial Liopleurodon ferox, which is correct, but unsurpisingly, the term can stand for a number of other binomials, such as Laphria ferox. The redirect should be deleted as ambiguous, as there's little practical hope of maintaining a dab page here. – Uanfala (talk) 18:44, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Disambiguate. If there are multiple meanings, why would this not be correct resolution? BD2412 T 21:18, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's not that this hasn't been done before, it has: there's C. elegans (disambiguation), and I think the monstrosity of that dab page should be a good indicator of why this sort of solution probably isn't a good idea. Sure, if someone compiles a list of all species names where the genus begins with "L" and where the specific epithet is "ferox", and is ready to keep it up to date with the constant discovery of new species or or the construction of new combinations, then sure, let them do that. But that's way too much work and it's not scalable. The usefulness of such a dab page would be close to zero too, as people don't normally search using abbreviated binomials. See the pageviews relevant to this redirect: the target is pretty popular as far as such articles go, receiving about 250 views each day. The redirect L. ferox, on the other hand, barely gets a single view once a month [1]. – Uanfala (talk) 21:47, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. If a disambiguation page is likely to be unmaintainable then this should be deleted. No objection to someone writing that DAB page in the future if they want to though. User:GKFXtalk 10:23, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, not because a dab is not feasible, but per Uanfala, that abbreviated binomials are not searched for. Jay 💬 02:45, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect title does not make it at all clear what the target is; the operation in question is called either "trim" or "strip", not "cut". No evidence that it has ever been deliberately used. All incoming links Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Cut refer to a previously deleted template and the one transclusion doesn't do anything so appears to be in error. Very infrequently used redirects from lyrics that are not mention in the article. When I get older, I will be stronger had 40 total pageviews in 2021 and They'll call me freedom, just like a Wavin' Flag had 42. TartarTorte 18:07, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Had forgotten about these two old redirects. With lots of lyric sites now on the web they're not needed and really not encyclopedic as notable snippets. Thanks, Facts707 (talk) 18:26, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. signed, Rosguill talk 20:07, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Redirected to Wiktionary as a result of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Teething troubles (figurative) in 2015, but, similar to Tavix' comments there, I don't really follow the logic for a redirect. It is not a plausible search term now any more than it was 7 years ago. Teething troubles points to Teething, and the Wiktionary hatnote there suffices to help anyone looking for the figurative usage. The single backlink, at New South Wales C38 class locomotive, can be bypassed. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 11:36, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per seven-years-ago me. In fact, I'd go so far to say that any word or phrase with a disambiguator would fail the criteria for Wiktionary redirects because they are not natural search terms. -- Tavix (talk) 15:37, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Removed the backlink from New South Wales C38 class locomotive, the "figurative" usage was not relevant to the article. However, I don't think that link was responsible for the 1200+ views the redirect has in the last 7 years. The AfD had said A fair number of articles link to this page, so someone has been cleaning up the links or piping directly to wikt per suggestion of seven-year-ago Tavix. Ambiguous term, certainly could apply to other places. The term is used hundreds of times in the encyclopedia, few have anything to do with Singapore. Delete as confusing. MB 05:08, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom unless there is a general article to redirect to. Seems to be WP:ASTONISH to redirect to a specific Singapore article. Natg 19 (talk) 09:27, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per Natg 19, I don't think users would expect to arrive at that article if they searched "Military expert" DirkJandeGeer щи 22:27, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per the above. A7V2 (talk) 07:57, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to 1894#July–September. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 23:39, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

While this exact date isn't directly mentioned in the target, it is the date of the establishment of the Republic of Hawaii. I personally doubt that most dates are exactly logical search terms (stuff like December 7, 1941 and January 6, 2021 are exceptions, not the rule), and as there's some lack of clarity as to if the Republic of Hawaii, the 1897 event it currently targets, or a section of Overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom is the most optimal target, deletion may be best here. Hog Farm Talk 02:18, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Rename to July 4, 1894 without redirect ,for lack of comma after 4. Then redirect to Republic of Hawaii AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 07:28, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • This date is mentioned at 1894#July–September and July 4#1601–1900. Is one of those a better target than the other? Or would it be best to delete it as ambiguous? - Eureka Lott 15:48, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Not ambiguous, it's just that there are two possible targets for most dates. If they contain the same information and link to each other, there is no reason to prefer one over the other, but the similar redirects I checked target the year. The result of the discussion was retarget to Little people. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 07:09, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The proper name for this theme is Lil' Peepz according to the target page. Should this spelling still exist? Also while Lil' Peepz refers to the the Vyond theme, Little Peeps seems like an ambiguous term. I suggest a retarget to Little people, the disambiguation page, and listing Lil' Peepz on that page.
