List of royal visits by Queen Elizabeth II[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. signed, Rosguill talk 06:12, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

As an American, I would have expected this to point to List of state visits made by Elizabeth II. I take it "royal visits" is understood to mean to Commonwealth realms? If this is widely understood throughout the Commonwealth, maybe this is just a case for hatnotes. But given the existing hatnote at List of state visits made by Elizabeth II, and the fact that her visits to Commonwealth realms are a logical subtopic, I recommend retargeting.

Note also that Royal visit redirects to State visit. --BDD (talk) 14:39, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Disambugate with links to the Queen's state visits and tours of Commonwealth countries. Peter Ormond 💬 15:07, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disambiguate: There are two plausible search terms for this, and they cover subtly different sets of visits. People could be looking for either of the two. Joseph2302 (talk) 10:11, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't think disambiguation is the best option. See WP:TWODABS. Commonwealth visits are a subset of state visits. --BDD (talk) 14:45, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep or perhaps disambiguate. She is Queen of Australia, for example, so I don't think it's appropriate to call it a "state visit", as she is not visiting representing a foreign country. Further, per State visit#United Kingdom, state visits do not occur between the United Kingdom and Commonwealth realms, technically. Searching online indicates that the existing target is the primary one for "royal visits", certainly List of state visits made by Elizabeth II is not the primary topic as far as I can tell. A7V2 (talk) 03:38, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per A7V2's research. Another ignorant American here, but it looks like this is "just a case for hatnotes" after all. -- Tavix (talk) 00:32, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Relisting comment: One more relist for a firmer consensus following a trend towards keep.

  • Keep: As stated by A7V2, as she is often the Head of State in these countries that she is visiting, they are typically not referred to as state visits. The current target is a bit more accurate, but I am fine with hatnotes also. TartarTorte 16:43, 17 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was no consensus / retarget to Cosmic Evolution (book). (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 08:16, 24 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This term is based on a broad, multi-discipline definition by the author Eric Chaisson.[1] It is not discussed in that context in the physical cosmology article; indeed, the term isn't even mentioned in the article body. The hatnote on the physical cosmology article almost resembles self-promotion. Hence I propose that the redirect be pointed to Cosmic Evolution (book). North East Indian cuisine[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to Northeast India#Cuisines. signed, Rosguill talk 06:10, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The target does not specify what cuisine is considered "North East Indian", leaving readers searching for these terms without specific information about what they are looking for. In addition, North East Indian cuisine was formerly an article for about 9 years before it was WP:BLAR-ed. Steel1943 (talk) 04:25, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Restore the "article", which was simply a list of articles on the cuisines of various individual groups in Northeast India. Tag as a WP:SETINDEX until someone writes a proper article. There are WP:RS available which cover northeastern cuisine as a distinct subgrouping [2][3], so putting these individual groups together in one article isn't just WP:OR. 61.239.39.90 (talk) 02:22, 1 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Suggest a retarget to Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, the original target, with a hatnote to the dab page. It was changed to its current target by Nyttend in 2013 with the rationale Change target; yes, it's the only one with this spelling, but it could easily mean one of the others with similar spellings and identical pronunciations, but WP:MINORDETAILS exists, and in addition to being the only one with this specific spelling, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania is the most prominent county on the dabpage by far (by population, pageviews, etc; certainly a primary topic for its, again, unique spelling). eviolite (talk) 13:42, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects for specific star polygons neither mentioned at target nor at Star polygon, Polygram (geometry) or elsewhere on the English Wikipedia. 1234qwer1234qwer4 12:00, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Keep and article improvement. These are actual (legal, existing) names, and so the target is the place to go for further understanding. The target should be improved with a more clarifying overview (keyword); likey the target can be {{anchor}}ed there. -DePiep (talk) 14:12, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
These redirects were initially targeting the articles for the corresponding convex polygons until the latter were redirected to this page. I disagree that the current target is helpful for further understanding in its current state, but if these terms were added to this wiki, I suppose the place would be Polygram (geometry). 1234qwer1234qwer4 14:31, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
